Battle of the Bands is the ultimate music rhythm game exclusively on Wii. The story is set in a fictitious world gone mad, where bands battle for music supremacy using weaponized instruments. Featuring 30 licensed tracks from today's hottest bands that can each be played in 5 different music genres (Rock, Country, Marching Band, Hip Hop and Ranchero) with 70 special weapons and attacks. In each game, a song will be played in one genre for about 10 to 15 seconds and then another, flipping back and forth. Points are earned by beat-matching, and successive matches will automatically launch quirky weapons such as smoke bomb, land mine and flip out. The more points earned, the more the music will be played in the player's genre. The game can be played in versus mode, perfect for social and party game setting, or in adventure mode where player set out to battle bands of other genres one by one. Two bands enter. One band leaves.

I purchased the game on Friday and I am real upset it was new, because I can't return it. Okay, from the commercial it looked really awesome. That is so not the case. Until I read the other reviews, I thought it was just me. The controls are horrible. I had gotten used to the mini-game in Fusion Frenzy on Xbox, and thought maybe like Guitar Hero that it would be pressing a key when the note or bea...[More]

Ok, like many people that would probably want to try this game because they enjoyed GH2, GH3 or Rock Band, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! I was painfully lucky that this was a friend's rental. I feel bad for my friend having spent even just a few dollars to rent this boring, pointless game. The concept of having various styles of a song was interesting, and, to say the least, the most entertaining part of ...[More]

For this much I would have expected this game to be of better quality. Thankfully, I only rented the game, but I can't imagine anyone ever wanting to pay more than 30 for this game; and that's pushing it. The Pros: The graphics are pretty good, and the song selection is decent. They have some recent songs mixed in with some oldies but goodies, and a few songs I haven't heard of. The idea of redoin...[More]
