Great kid friendly, challenging turn based game
I'm 43 and often buy game for myself or my children. I'm a fan of turn-based games, so I picked this up.
The game is based on turn-based tactical combat. There's a good story line that plays out as you move through the game. The game has many user friendly features:
- All heroes in your group level at the same time regardless if you're using them in a fight.
- There's no penalty for losing a fight or running from one.
- When you use a special item to unlock the side missions, there's no penalty if you use the wrong one (i.e. nothing gets "used up").
- You can move back through the story as much as you like to re-play fights or just have fun.
As you play through the game, more heroes join your group. Presently, I have 18 heroes in my group, but fights use 5 or fewer for each, forcing you to choose which heroes are best (or which you like the most).
At first I thought it was going to be a kiddie game, but as an adult, I'm drawn to the game and find myself wanting to play more. At the 4th stage, the fights become more challenging and require you to really use the various special moves that each hero has. Now, at the 5th stage, I'm having to plan well to get past the first fight.
There appears to be a random treasure generator used in the game which is nice since you get a variety of items that can drop. You can carry an infinite supply of items (which is handy since new heroes arrive empty-handed).
There are basic towns available in the game, but they offer only basic service. However, one option is to fight a random group of enemies for cash. This is a nice feature since it allows you to practice using your enemies together and offers replay value.
All in all, this has turned out to be a great game.

Not Bad, But not great
I bought this game about two weeks ago. I had been looking for a RPG possibly turn based to fill some down time before work. The game story is kinda quirky and interesting, though it definitely seems geared more towards a younger crowd. The graphics are not top not but the design style is pretty cool. One of the things that interested me in the game was the all the features that it claims to have. Party customization, combat, exploration. Party customization allows you to change the names and it says colors. While you can change SOME of the colors, it applies to every character in your party. With three colors that change on each character. Kinda sad that you couldnt make each guy have their own look. The combat scheme is pretty cool for turn based. The ability to only get two attacks on a guy when hes not alone is pretty neat and it really means you have to have the right party combo to handle fights. So the ability to run away at any time without any penalty really comes in handy.
I didn't get overly far into the game. I picked up two extra characters for my party and I managed to complete one of the side accomplishment. The whole not knowing what the side accomplishments were was a bit annoying to me. This game just didnt hold my interest as I thought it would. Its not a bad game but its just not really that great either.

excited!!! well kinda
kinda getting tired of this game getting pushed back. The graphics and story line look great from what i read. the only bad thing i can see about this game is the constant release date change. Now this is not gamestops fault so i do not hold them accountable for this. I hold the game designers responsible. There have been many games that i have waited for pushed back. i was hoping that this came out before halo reach but alas it is not and most likely will be pushed back again on the 13th (this monday) if it does not i will be surprised.

This looks like a great battling game for kids and teens. This seems like a new version of Pokemon or fossil fighters! I cant wait to buy!

Could this end all games for villians
What do you get when you add. A dash of ufc. the open worldness of fallout. The replayability of red dead. The fun of mario galaxy. You get dawn of da heroes. Basically the story is like this you are a young orphan living your life on your dads beet farm. Suddenly a meteor strikes and you get a call from dennis haysbert. He asks if you are in good hands. if you answer yes its the end of the game but if you answer no. Your door falls in and 5 clones of the bayonneta chick start attacking you. The only way to kill them is if you leg sweep them all in one move otherwise you die. Once you beat them you get wings like icarus so you can fly to miami and compete in blood bowl. But little do you know when you get there you crash land from zeus thunderbolt. I would help more beyond that but it gets insanely hard , better just pick up picross 3d.
