Pretty good...
I enjoyed this game. However because I played a similar game, Trace Memory, I was kind of disappointed with this game. I liked the story line but at some times it was difficult. Especially when you had to start a conversation over for saying the wrong thing. But it was still fun. I like the mystery/unkwon type of games. And I liked that the story lasted for quite a while.

Great Game but....
This is a very good game to play as the graphics were good. I saw that this game was highly recommended so I went ahead and bought it and was pleasantly surprised. I liked how it was a mystery and that yes you do hold the DS like a book. Some parts were a little frustrating no matter how many times you do it correctly, but that wasn't a big deal to me. Some of the pros are that it's easy to navigate and that you really have to at times think outside of the box to know what to do next. It gets you thinking. Some of the cons is that it is a short game, especially if you play it a lot, the music could have been better, and some of the conversations were lulling me to sleep. Some of them were just way too long. But overall I did enjoy the game and would recommend it to others.

A very good storyline.
This game is a must have for fans of mystery. I like the fact that you hold the DS sideways like a book. Graphics were good I like how they look like drawings but the in game graphics were pretty low. The controls mostly involve the stylus more than the buttons. Challenge is what made this game last because you will get stuck here and there. If you dont know what to do next than your going to have to look around the entire hotel and observe everything until something happens or talk to a specific person. Music was good but you will get annoyed after awhile. Replayability might not be very good unless your trying to get the secret ending(hint). The storyline is what mostly left me playing for hours. The story is very captivating and it will have you wanting to know more. Although you will read more than you will play. Its kind of like an interactive novel. So if you like more cinematics and you hate reading than this might not be the right one for you. Overall its a very fun and captivating game. The story will make you keep going with suspense.

Great Mystery Game
I found this game a few months ago and was so excited when I played it. It was way better than I expected. Totally got my money's worth. I'm a huge fan of mystery games and I've played multiple ones, but Hotel Dusk takes the cake! One of the best aspects is the animation. I love how the characters are drawn and the detail in their facial features. The dialogue was a little cheesy but its to be expected because the main character is an ex-cop. I absolutely love the story line. Its full of secrets and unexpected twists. The game was a little short. I've played through the whole thing about 3 times already, but it still isn't boring to me. The puzzles start out simple but get more challenging once you get farther into the game. Another cool thing is how you hold the DS like a book while you're playing. Its very interesting and creative. Its easy to get around and inspect things, too. The right screen is the aerial map view and the left screen is first person view. I like this because its easy to tell where you are on the map, but you can see the details around you at the same time. One more thing I like about Hotel Dusk that other mystery games don't have is the risk of getting game over if you rub a person the wrong way or get your facts wrong. This really brings a bigger challenge to the game and makes it interesting and seem more like an actual game. But don't get the wrong idea, just because its possible to get game over doesn't mean you're screwed. You can just start where you left off and rethink the mistakes you made before. All together this is an excellent game. Anyone looking for a good mystery game that is easy to follow and will actually make you use your brain will love this game.

Best for ds
When i started playing this game, i thought i was about to play the best mystery game ever. Well, it was. The storyline couldnt have been better. The controls were good. It was a great challenge. (had to use a walkthorugh a few times :D). The music was kinda cool. Basically, you start out being a guy named Kyle Hyde who is an ex-police officer. He stays at this hotel hoping to get a clue about his former partner bradley. There are sooo many mysteries to solve, so many people to meet. You also find out that a friend named Louie from NY who now works at hotel dusk. Most of the way through you fill him in with information. The owner of the hotel is a guy named Dunning Smith. The maid that works their is named Rosa. There are many other guests and there are mysteries about them all. The main mystery in this game isnt completely solved, so i am really hoping there will be another game like it if not an addition coming out soon. I really recommend you go out an buy this game if you havent already and start playing. You wont regret it.

Great, but short
When I decided to play this game, I was excited and not disappointed at first. The mystery has many twists and turns that keeps you guessing until the very end. The role-playing is exciting. However, once you're done, you're done. I beat the game in two days, and all you can do afterwords is play it again with slight changes to some of the mini games. I ended up returning the game because it didn't take me long enough to finish it and I wasn't planning on playing it again after I had already solved the mystery. But it was a good plot-line. The main mystery that you start off with, however, is still not quite solved when you reach the end of the game, but since there are so many mysteries, one being left out isn't that important. The animation was fascinating, especially since it was 2-D, and the music was entertaining. It's a good game to rent, not to buy.

One of the best gaming storylines!
So if you're interested in lots of action with as little dialogue, then this MAY not be for you, but otherwise you can't go wrong with Hotel Dusk. You play ex-detective Kyle Hyde who leaves the NY force after shooting his partner Bradley in the Hudson River. He, Bradley, double crossed the police force and started working for a group of criminals called Nile. Kyle on the other hand is convinced that he is still alive and has spent the last three years looking for him as a door to door sales man in LA. So he ends up in a dump called Hotel Dusk and strange things keep on happening. The group name Nile keeps on being brought up, another guest with the same name as Kyle Hyde stayed there six months earlier, a famous painting of an angel, secret tunnels, your friend Louis from New York now works there, A strange mute girl named Mila with no past, every single guest in the hotel is connected to one another in some form, and everything ties back to Bradley. Can you solve the mystery that Hotel Dusk holds?

looks really good
This game looks like it has really good graphics and I like the fact that the characters are sketched. This seems like a good game and that I'm gonna buy it when it comes out!

Looks Awsome
This game looks excellent; I'm gonna give it a go. I thought that simply touching a screen was revolutionary, but Nintendo proves yet again that they can stay original with their video games.
