DO NOT BUY!!!!!!
I am a BIG fan of RPGs, and trust me this is a horrible excuse of a RPG!! I ran around for the first three hours killing monsters, expecting to level up my characters, and all I got was some useless items to sell for cash. After googling how to level up, all you had to do was hit R to change the world map (or whatever) to make monsters give out EXP (?!?!?!?!?!?!). The story is NOT INTERESTING AT ALL, I could come up with better material in my sleep!!! OVERALL, NEVER, EVER, EVER, BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!

A Terrible First Impression
========
Story
========
This game starts out on a bad foot. Many RPGs present some sort or problem or at least intrigue the players with questions about what is going on. Lunar Dragon Song just starts out slow with you waking up in your room and needing to get to work. And, as mentioned in the description of this game you work as a delivery boy. This lack of an element to draw the reader in forces the game to rely on gameplay itself to keep you interested. And, as described below the game doesn't succeed in that venture at all.
========
Gameplay
========
This game suffers in this area a lot. And, this problem includes traveling on the world map where you will lose hit points if you run. In fact, this doesn't just apply to areas full of enemies, but in town as well. So you better not run from the Inn to Gad's Express or you might end up nine feet under. This mechanic largely forces you to travel around at a snail's pace. This feature is probably meant to force the player to take part in some battles, but feels needless and unnecessary since any person that is well versed into RPGs knows that a lot of time is going to be spent grinding for items, money, or levels.
Sadly, combat isn't an improvement for this game. The main problem with combat is it's random nature. This isn't to say that entering battle is random since the enemies appear on the screen and you enter the battle area when you come in contact with them. The game is random in that you'll randomly attack one of the enemies that appears on the screen each time you attack. Though, there does seem to be a method to this madness the lack of full control on who your characters are going to attack is extremely frustrating. The game seems to use combat mechanics that are less engaging then Final Fantasy XIII.
========
Graphics
========
The game is rather colorful and does seem to have some vibrancy while using an outdated look. Though, this game does appeal to those that enjoy a retro feel in terms of graphics.
========
Sound
========
I didn't play the game long enough to make a judgement on this area of the game. Though, the few tracks that I did hear weren't particularly powerful, but the game wasn't trying to be extremely captivating or moving at the time.
========
Lasting Appeal
========
For many people this game won't have enough appeal to even complete a single time much less look for additional content to explore.

It was really tough.
My sister and I both tried it. I ended up selling it back to Gamestop, but I am going to rebuy it and win it!!

wierd...
At first it was okay and everything and it was well... The battle system is okay...... But the worst RPG I've played. The main reason why I hate this game is stupid. It is because the characters lose health when they run! What kind of stupid RPG does that!?

horrible game.
I'm sorry but I can't believe only one person reviewed this...and with a 10/10 score!! This was the first rpg I had bought for the DS back when it first came out. It was utter garbage and I've played hundreds of rpgs. This game is a disgrace and should not be given time wasted upon it.

A very nice game
When I first saw this game on the internet I thought it would be pretty interesting and then I saw it again in Gamestop and decided to buy it. At first I didn’t really understand how to play the game but then I picked it up pretty fast and was off. Now I’m really far in the game and still a long way from being finished. The game is also challenging and keeps you occupied. It’s challenging because you have to find and beat a certain number of monsters in a row in order to open a blue chest that will give nice items that are expensive in the stores. And sometimes when battling certain monsters can either break or steal items. Also when you visit towns you can deliver packages to make some extra coin and buy new weapons and armor. The controls are also really good; so far I haven’t had in any problems. The graphics aren’t that bad either. I have really enjoyed this game and I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes adventure, action, challenge, and magic.
