Star Fox Command
Starfox makes very good on the DS
Starfox has long been Nintendo's arcade flying shooter, as well as a contributor to their several adventure franchises. On the DS however, it blends strategy with flying. No, Starfox command is not a strategy game, NOT AT ALL, it just adds a little strategic influence of how you pick your fights on the battle field. The action has feels quite similar to the classic arcade style that Starfox so great, and it boasts plenty of familiar and new (if a bit strange) enemies, and the awesome bosses battles that we all love. Good job, Nintendo!
Losing hope, but still have some
Star Fox has been a part of my childhood ever since day 1. Star Fox 64 being my favorite of all time. When command released, I was excited for having a Star Fox game on a handheld system! However when I got it, I was disappointed. Not so much in the gameplay, but the story. I felt like the story really ruined Star Fox for the great series it was. Although with 9 endings to keep you going, I felt most of them were somewhat stupid. I also felt some of them were an ending that I would least expect to be a Star Fox ending. As for gameplay, I was slightly disappointed as I expected d-pad compatibility if we didn't like touch controls. Still it was entertaining enough to play. The music itself is not bad, pretty much some remixes of old music, and some new music. However I hate Panther's theme. This game made me start losing hope in the Star Fox series, but I won't give up on it right away. All in all, the game is not that great, but can be somewhat enjoyable, and at the current price it's not bad. If you have a 3DS, I suggest the new Star Fox, as it makes a way better handheld Star Fox game.
Sadly, the last Star Fox.
Believe it or not, I THINK this is the last Star Fox. Why? Well, we will get there. GRAPHICS: Not much, same graphics you except for a DS game. SOUND: Great music, especially for the ending, I mean endings. GAMEPLAY: What make me a bit mad as soon as I started was that you have to use the TOUCH SCREEN, that's right, TOUCH SCREEN, to move. It works, but I wish you could use control pad, oh well. Touch screen sometimes does not track your actions, but it's very rare in the game to see that. LASTING APPEAL: Very short, that made me very angry when I noticed how short it was, but then I realized there are MULTIPLE endings, but why? Why not just one? That's why I think this is the last Star Fox, how can you make another one with multiple endings? Overall for 7 bucks, this is a great deal.
Fun but forgetable
First I must start by saying that this game is better than star fox assault. The game is sort of a turn based strategy in which you have to defeat the enemy in a certain amount of turns. The catch is that you have to go into a classical star fox fight if you make contact with an enemy and you are timed in the fight. You control your ship with the stylus which works really smoothly. the gameplay is challenging even for star fox experts. The storyline is interesting at first but gets really forgetable in the end. There are very few levels in the game but you are supposed to play the game over and over again to get all 18 endings. The graphics are decent but they are nothing special. The characters do not have real voices so they sound like animal crossing characters. The lasting appeal is pretty bad I mean I have no desire to unlock the other 17 endings. Overall I would mainly recomend this to star fox fans or experienced flight game fans.
What in the name of the Lylat system is this garbage? Fox has NO VOICE! The controls SUCK and is not ergonomical (my hands STILL hurt from this. The "tactical" layout of the game is a MAJOR TURN OFF!!! DO NOT GET THIS GAME!!!!! I wasted 6 bucks on this?!?!?!?!
not the best but it had some stuff good about it. it had good gameplay and sound. but the lasting appeal was kinda low.
what is with their voices
I like the game play, fact there are multiple endings and the fact you can stop then go back to finish the level later. They sound mess up when they talk, it is almost like their not talking at all.
it was alright......
this starfox game is pretty good. there is alot of things that i like about it. after you beat it the first time, which will take a while depending on how your flow through the game is. You will then get to go back and choose to do other things and take other paths that you couldnt in the first time playing. The only cons about this game is the controlls. you have to keep your ds stylus on the screen forever, sorta cramps up my hand after playing for a while. this also makes it hard to shoot down enemies. the wifi play is sorta useless now cause no one gets on. after while you do get used to the contols and its a pretty decent game. if you do buy it, you should be able to enjoy it. but starfox 64 is a way better game.
Im a newbe to star fox and it was horrible.Very unorganized.Good Thing is they have single-card play and wi-fi.I admit thats awesome but know one does Wi-fi.Suggest this if yor actually a star fox fan
