Awesome Classic games
Best games ever in the 2000-1991 series. Sonic CD is my favorite then sonic R and then sonic the fighters. Dont listen to what other people say this game rocks. They can hate on someone else games becuase sega is making way more money than them even without sonic being apart of it. Keep going strong Sonic/Sega/Sonic Team

Remember the classics
I can't really say who is this game perfect for. So I'll just say it's perfect for all the sonic fans to buy this game. I just wish that they put every old game up there like sonic advance and sonic battle for example. But there were sonic games that I haven't heard of before. I you're a real sonic fan, the this game should be part of your collection.

Nice classic hits.
This game had awesome Sonic classics such as; Sonic R, Sonic CD and Sonic the Fighters. And Sonic CD is my favorite Sonic game too. This was a great game to have classic hits like Sonic Mega collection. With the museum to view images of Sonic & friends and other Sonic games. And this game had a lot of classic Sonic games and even Vectro Man and Vectro Man 2. This game was nice with great Sonic classics.

Awful Sonic games!!
I got this around the time the Gamecube was about to be discontinued, and im surprised to say that this was a terrible complication. To be honost the only game thats worth it is Sonic CD, every thing else is horrible. The games come from either the Game Gear, the Sega CD, the Saturn, and theirs even an arcade title. I never even heard of Tails Adventure, Sonic Fighter or even Sonic R; have you?!?! If you are looking for a good game complication buy the Sonic Mega Collection.

sonic Mega collection plus did better.
I remember those days when i wanted this game. and yet the quality of games varies. The only thing that actually stands out is-bonus point for you if you already know- Sonic cd and probably sonic the fighters. The rest of it varies from bad to medicore. Sonic R is just plain obnoxious with painful music. Vectorman is the hardest of the bunch. Most of the demos are games we got in the previous sonic complication. And why dummy out Knuckles chaotix from this game without announcing an offical reason why it was dummied out? Sonic drift 2 has terrible sound effects. And sonic the fighters has quite the shallow gameplay.

Sonic Rejects Collection
Sonic Rejects collection, officially titled Sonic Gems Collection, is yet another compilation of classic sonic games, but this time the focus is on the more obscure games in the series long history. I'm a huge sonic fan and I haven't encountered very many sonic games that i didn't like (Shadow The Hedgehog isn't really a sonic game...) So at $13 this was a must-have! I've never been disappointed by a sonic game. until now that is.
SGC has 9 sonic titles plus Vectorman, a Metroid-esque side scroller is unlockable, as well as some other bonuses that aren't too exciting. The problem is you have to PLAY the games on here to unlock them. This doesn't sound so bad until you actually turn the game on. Ugh. Talk about a diamond (or gem) in the rough. There are a few good titles on here, but the bad far outweighs the good. The cover even tells you there are only 3 good titles! So I'll describe the few good ones and just score the unmemtionable ones to make it easier.
Sonic CD--The obvious attraction for this compilation disc. sonic CD was only released for the Sgea CD, which is such a shame because its really good. The game looks and plays like the first two entries. the levels are colorful and vibrant and the gameplay is fast and fun. the bosses this time around are pretty unique for a sonic game. Instead of just hitting Robotnik (or Eggman, whichever you prefer) a few times there will be some sort of puzzle such as (spoiler) running on a coveyer belt to wear it out while dodging bombs. The sprite animation is better than the Genesis titles, but the sound effects have lower quality and the music is...off. Its just not right for a sonic games. Also CD is pretty short (even by sonic standards) i beat it in a little under an hour. There are 6 zones, each with 3 acts. You face Robotnik in the third act of each. There is one level in particular where the background and foreground overlap and its difficult to navigate. The key feature in this game is time travel. You can mover forward and backwards through time, which alters the level and the music, and increases the replayability. destroying machines in the past creates a better future. There are also 3D special stages in which you collect 7 time stones. Metal Sonic makes his devut and so begins the battle to decide who is the real sonic! (spoiler: Its Sonic) I give sonic Cd a 8.75/10
Sonic The Fighters--A 2D fighting game in which sonic and friends duke it out to gain control of the...8 chaos emeralds. 8? Anyway the roster consists of favorites such as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and...Bean the dynamite...Nack the weasel...and Bark the polar bear...WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE? Anyway the goal is obviously to beat you opponent in the time limit to progress to the next round. Each character has their own moves, but they're all pretty similar to each other. There's surprisingly a good arsenal of attacks so this isn't so bad. The one unique character is Nack who uses a gun, but the AI ALWAYS blocks his attacks so he's completely useless. There is a multiplayer mode which is nice. The game is pretty spammy though, so its easy to win against skilled players. The grapghics are decent and so is the music. the problem is this game just isn't fun for very long. After i beat it i never wanted to see it a gain. Sonic The Fighters a 7/10
Sonic Triple Trouble--The sequel to Sonic Chaos. this is one of the few passable game gear titles ever made. notice i said passable. The 8-bit graphics are just plain ugly and the sounds are just so annoying. The gameplay is the core of any game though, and that is where Triple Trouble...passes. The levels are fast but there is some noticable lag. Some of the level designs are pretty good, others are non memorable. The platforming and sense of speed are good and there are even some occasional puzzles. There are several powerups which is a nice touch and the bosses are puzzle based and fun (except for the Nack fights). The special stages however are grueling. You have to do a series of puzzles or platforming in a short time limit, and then fight Nack for a chaos emerald. Another feature is that when sonic jumps off a spring he can do his spin attack in midair. This is a great addition to the 2D sonic formula. Why didn't they keep it.? sonic Triple Trouble is a DECENT game, but unless your a huge sonic fan (like me) you probably shouldn't play it. Sonic Triple Trouble gets a 6.5/10
And then ther'es the rest....
Sonic R--5.5/10
Sonic Spinball GG0--1.5/10
Sonic Drift 2--4/10
Sonic 2 GG--4/10
Tails' Adventure--6/10
Tails's Sky Patrol--4.5/10
If you've never played Sonic CD $13 is a fair price but otherwise avoid this game at all costs.

A gem buried in a collection of abominations
The gem obviously referring to the rare Sonic CD, Sonic Gems Collection packs together probably the worst collection of Sonic games.
I took this back the day after I bought it.
The majority of Sonic Gem's library consists of Sonic's Sega GameGear games such as Sonic Triple Trouble, Sonic 2 (8 bit) and Tails' Sky Patrol but these are extremely laggy and take away from any enjoyment you might have playing them.
It also has the only console version of the arcade game Sonic the Fighters, which isn't bad but the fun quickly disappears as it gets incredibly repetitive.
The worst game on this disc has to be the legendarily terrible Sonic R.
I enjoy the premise as speed is what makes a Sonic game, but I can comfortably say this is the worst game I've ever played.
The controls are difficult to play and describe. They are very "drifty" if that makes any sense. You use the control stick to run forward and use the L and R buttons to assist in turning.
You pick from the roster of Tails, Knuckles and of course Sonic as well as Amy and you race on one of 4 tracks.
You can very easily get lost on the tracks and you will have a difficult time getting back on course because you can't WALK BACKWARDS!
I have never been so baffled at a game's soundtrack. Ever.
I really don't know what they were thinking when they sat down in that planning meeting for the music.
I dare you to find the soundtrack on YouTube and listen to it.
It makes no sense whatsoever and takes away whatever seriousness and energy the game could have had.
The positive thing about this collection is the Metal Sonic theme.
The extras and unlockable system is worthless since you have to play these hideous games to unlock anything extra.
Stay far away from this unless you have never played Sonic CD.
Sonic Mega Collection should be the only classic Sonic compilation anyone should own.

if you want to play sonic cd, own this game
this is the only compilation album for sonic with sonic cd and sonic r. if you like these games (maybe not sonic r) you should have it.
