3DS Power Case
Gives backup charge, but declines over time
I actually received my case from a very good friend of mine as a Christmas gift last year. I still use it all the time, but I'll give my warning for potential customers further down.
I've been satisfied with it fulfilling its purpose, offering a mobile, cordless recharge for my 3DS while I continue to play. It's a little bulky in its design, but it's not uncomfortable to play while my 3DS sits in the case. The two pieces to the power case can be removed without having to strain yourself, and on top of that, the upper screen's back, not connected to the charge pack lower half, so it offers some protection for the 3DS as well (I don't plan on doing any "stress tests" with my 3DS, though). Lastly, it is nice how, if you recharge your 3DS with the power case and keep playing until the battery gets low again or dies, you can recharge both the 3DS and the power case simultaneously by plugging a charging cable into the case with the 3DS in it.
Now, one problem that I've encountered with my case, as did my friend with his case, is that the charge has declined over time. I'd estimate it was only after a few months (maybe somewhere between 3-5 months) of using it very frequently, almost daily, that my 3DS wouldn't be fully recharged or even charged nearly as long as when I first started using it. Originally, I could fully recharge my 3DS with the case, but as of now, I might get up to half of the 3DS battery capacity in my charge. It's not bad, and it still functions, but I can't take it for granted that I can play for twice as long as with just the 3DS's battery fully charged anymore. I don't know if it's due to leaving it on the charging cable for too long or if the battery in the power case developed a "memory," but it doesn't last as long anymore.
Basically, the power case offers what it claims, but to a degree. Be cautious, and don't be surprised if it eventually gives significantly less of a recharge to your 3DS.
It's comfortable, stylish, and it adds extra battery life. I would recommend this to anybody who owns a 3ds. The only thing I don't like is that it's a little hard to fit in your pocket.
best product on the market
I recently perchesed it but at walmart due to the fact the i can only go to game stop on some acations but was the same product same price and was even better then i could have amagen the only problem i found is if you need to get your sd card out you would have to take the power case off but other then then that its nicly desined, love the exster stylist holder, and must have for long trips and very comfortible and even maches the aqua blue 3DS color with a littel black for desiners Tast.
I was very impressed with this product. Both functions work great. It recharges your 3DS battery making it possible to take your 3DS on long trips. It also has a shell that will protect your 3DS from small drops and scratches. I am very happy with this product. It fits my 3DS firmly adding very little extra weight and size while doubling the battery life and providing extra shock protection to the 3DS.
Nice design and easy to hold and double play time.
I got the blue/black power case which firmly holds and protects the 3DS from damage in falls and scratches. It also has a second holder for another stylus. It is easy to charge and gives me double the play time which comes in handy when on long plane or train trips. I would recommend the power case for any serious gamer.
