Layton backup
If you're looking for a Professor Layton filler this is perfect, it's my first 3DS game so I may just be overly enthusiastic about it, BUT it's really beautiful game!~ Awesome graphics, great voice acting and cut scenes, and great sound/music! So far the puzzles are ridiculously easy, butttt I can't say I mind it - that's why its a nice break from Layton! Bottom line - get it for a nice simple, visually stunning video game-if its at the right price-you can't go wrong!

So...much...potential!
Sometimes you come across a game that seems to have so much potential! It has all theright ingredients: a well-written and voiced script, beautiful anime graphics, and well-utilized 3D visuals...but then you have horribly-executed, barely-explained, Pokemon-style battles...which absolutly ruin the game for me. I know that a lot of people will love these sequences, but I absolutely hate them. The game is saved by it's graphics, script, and voice-acting, which begs the question: "Why didn't they just make this an anime instead?"

Proffesor Wha?!?
Overall, I thought the game was pretty good, but if you take of the "Layton Hat," I think he looks cooler.

NOT layton, but good
The gameplay of this game is absolutely nothing like Layton, I was expecting puzzle-mania like with Layton, but in reality the bulk of this game is running around inside of labyrinths avoiding guards and collecting pokemon-like "spirits" to fight bigger and bigger spirits, with a few puzzles and riddles sprinkled in. The gameplay gets a little repetitive, but it is still fun. The story and style, on the other hand, are very Laytonesque. The characters are really interesting and the style is sharp and appealing. The 3d is interesting as well. It isn't Layton, but it's a nice game to have in the meantime!

Proffesor Layton just with a different name.
Looks pretty good. I mean I wanted the 3D Prof. Layton, but until that comes out this will do. I don't have much else to say, the 3D looks cool.
