The newest installment of the fan-favorite Mario Kart franchise brings Mushroom Kingdom racing fun into glorious 3D. For the first time, drivers explore new competitive kart possibilities, such as soaring through the skies or plunging to the depths of the sea. New courses, strategic new abilities and customizable karts bring the racing excitement to new heights.

The Mario Kart franchise continues to evolve. New kart abilities add to the wild fun that the games are known for. On big jumps, a kart deploys a wing to let it glide over a track shortcut. When under water, a propeller pops out to help the kart cruise across the sea floor.
Players can show their own style by customizing their vehicles with accessories that give them a competitive advantage. For instance, giant tires help a kart drive off-road, while smaller tires work best on city courses.
People can choose to race as one of their favorite Mushroom Kingdom characters or even as their Mii character.
New courses take players on wild rides over a mountain road, on city streets and through a dusty desert. Nintendo fans will recognize new courses on Wuhu Island and in the jungles from Donkey Kong Country Returns.
The game supports both SpotPass and StreetPass features.
Players can compete in local wireless matches or online over a broadband Internet connection.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

This is the very best kart racing game I've ever played! The addition of underwater and sky upgrades make this game better than it was for the DS lite. The new power-ups make racing even more fun than ever. Online play gives this game the extra push it needs to shove it over the edge to the one of the best games for the 3DS. You can play with people all over the world as long as you have a wi-fi connections. If you have a 3DS then you have got to get this game.

This game is perfect for: kid gamers

To be honest, I was a little disappointed with this games. The character choice is very limited. I was really disappointed when they kicked out and Waluigi and some other essential characters, especially when they were in the last couple of games. They decided to add queen bee from super mario galaxy to the game. Also, I didn't enjoy the graphics of the game. To me, mario didn't look like his normal self, like in supermario or something of that nature. However, I feel that that the lighting of the game made all the characters look shiny and un- appealing. Ok. By now your probably thinking "why in the world did this kid like this game at all?" The one thing that I really enjoyed about this game was the tracks. The first half are completely new to the series, but the second half are old ones remastered. this makes the game both fun for newcomers to the series as well as long time, devoted fans. The new tracks were really fun.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

I really wanted this game ever since I got my 3ds and it was my second game I bought. This used to be my favorite game for the 3ds, but eventually, I got tired of just racing all the time. I know that is the point of this game, but seriosly, all you can do on this game is race and it can get pretty boring. Although this game can get a little boring, it is still one of the best games for the 3ds and the graghics are fantastic. I think that this is a great game and you can't go wrong with Mario Kart. I definately recomend this game to anyone who is a fan of Mario Kart and has a 3ds.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

This was great when I bought it and it still is it is very hard because you had to clear courses and earn a 3 STAR rating on the grand prix the 50cc was easy but the 100cc and the 150cc were immpossible to beat overall a great game for the 3ds. And after beating the game you can still be entertained because you can race online with any character or your MII. I would reccomend this game to everybody.

This game is perfect for: party gamers

I remember my 1st choice for a game to buy was this Mario Kart 7 game with my 3ds. Did not regret it! With so many characters to unlock like Metal Mario which can be unlocked after finishing a cup in a difficult level, one can play many hours to try to unlock other characters. You can also get your Mii to play in the game which I found awesome. Another thing to point out was the online play and how you can compete with their ghosts, which is sweet! Overall this game great for multiple wifi players all over the world!

This game is perfect for: party gamers

Mario and his friends (not all of them) are back in kart racing 3D. The game's kart custimization is cool all though it may not have 100% of what you want you will like it. The new characters like Lakitu and Metal Mario are cool but the Queen Bee is annoying. The mii still sounds funny/weird but I got used to it. Waluigi Stadium is still there but not Waluigi :( . I miss characters like Dry Bones and Funky Kong. They shouldn't have been taken out. The 3D encahnces the graphics and stands out at certain moments but other than that not much use of the 3D. The classic tracks are better than ever and the new tracks are cool. Some of my favorite tracks are Music Park because of the music and Maka Wuhu because of the glitch. If you love Mario Kart you won't be dissapointed even if the game isn't that much different than the others.

mario kart has been around since the SNES days back in the 90s. now in 2012 mario's newest racing game has the best gameplay yet. the new additions are obviousley noticed. you can ride underwater and fly through the air. every time you enter water a propeller pops out and you can race through the water with no problem. and then you hit a jump with blue arrows a glider pops out and you soar through the skies. and fully customizable karts are perfect for any type of racer. from speed demons and fast starters to awesome drifters and off roaders. when you customize your kart you can chose the type of kart, wheels and glider. karts range from standerd and a cactus to eggs and koopa clowns. wheels range from standerd and monster truck tires to mushrooms and racing tires. the tracks in this game are detailed and very colorful. from tropical resort islands and ice worlds. to musical parks and mountains. the classic tacks make a return. from the snes there are favorites like mario circut and rainbow road. from the N64 there is kalimari desert and luigi raceway and koopa troopa beach. from the GBA there is bowser castle. from the GCN there is dino dino jungle and daisy cruiser. form the DS there is luigi manshion and airship fortress. and from the wii there is mushroom gorge, coconut mall, maple treeway and koopa cape.another inclusion to the mario kart franchise is the ability to get ghost data via streetpass. and you can race up to 7 ghost at a time. you can press up on the directional button you will have the ability to drive first person and you steer like the wii wheel in mario kart wii. so overall mario kart 7 is a perfect 3DS game to start with when trying out the 3DS.
