Empire: Total War
Review for Empire: Total War
Empire: Total War is a great strategy game, especially if you have played previous Total War games and enjoyed them. Empire: Total War takes place from the year 1700 to 1799 (C.E of course). Empire is a turn-by-turn strategy game in which you manage a nation that existed at the time. You can manage taxes, buildings, trading, and your army. You also can fight real time battles against an AI or play online multiplayer. Not only can you fight land battles, you can take the war to the seas and fight with colonial aged ships. You also can play a siege battle. Either the attacker must hold the center of the fort for two minutes, or the defender must destroy the attacker's army. However, the game works best on newer computers. I run with Windows XP, and the game is pretty slow. Also, to get the game, you have to have downloaded Steam software and the GameStop application on your PC. If you run with Windows 7 or Windows 8, I think Empire: Total War should work fine as long as your RAM is okay.
This game is perfect for strategy gamers!
This game provides an in-depth feel to running a government and running a military and is crazy fun! This game is very re-playable and worth the investment
A great RTS game for all history buffs and fans.
For once an RTS accurate to the time period and the ability to play with a sense of realism as far as the period correct weapons. I love how I was able to dismount Dragoons, change ammo type for cannons and set up troops in different formations to fit the fitting style. The graphics were great for an RTS and the sound was awesome giving you the feeling of really being in the middle of a battle during the 1700-1800s. Overall this is a great and fun game and I think all RTS fans should try it out. The only thing is that it can get old after awhile of playing because its not always a fast paced game.
With much improved gameplay, and simplified controls, this title of Total War easily makes it as one of my all-time favorite Total War games.
I'm a HUGE fan of the Total War series. With good reason. Each Total War game has delivered hours, days, weeks, so on and so on of fun and entertaining gameplay. I have played every game in the series and personally own all but three of the games. This game is my "Tied for first" favorite. You can play as the superpowers of the time period (England, France, Spain, Prussia, Austria, Russia, Poland, Ottoman Empire, and the Maratha Confederacy). Through your diplomatic choices, military conquests, and your technological advances you can become military superpower and/or an economic powerhouse. Plus the battles are extremely fun to play. There is also a "Road to Independence" campaign where you play as the revolutionary forces in the Revolutionary War. The game offers all this and at the same time it keeps its historical inaccuracies to a minimum. The only downside is the game takes up a lot of memory. Also, the little videos that may pop up in the campaign tend to be laggy.
