This game is not for casual gamers.
This game is for those who like Space Soap Opras. Becouse, those who want an Empire builder in space will not want to waste their time, unless they have no money to buy a proper one. I loved this game, but I played it on windows 98 and it's compition was CIV 2 to Play the World. It was a great leep from Alpha Centauri and different from the growing RTS community [ Star Craft or Age of Kings Conquers ] Back then the Atari 2600 sound and Sega graghics were the norm. To me it is and always will be a 10, but to the casual gamer today, maybe a 4.

An Oldy, but a goody
Ok, so this game is old. True. But I still love it. Great things about it...designing your own ships. Playing the battles are awesome and can actually remind you of Battlestar Galactica. Building a great star empire is totally fun.
The graphics are outdated and there isn't, as far as I know, a plan for Master of Orion IV. But the price is cheap, the game is fun and you'll play over and over again.

Total Fail
As an avid Master of Orion fan, i am extremely dissapointed in this game. it is, quite possibly, the worst game i have ever played. There is no tutorial, everything is extremely complicated, and some things just don't work. There is NOTHING worth paying for in this game. Ive played the game, and about 10 turns in lost because the computer voted itself the leader. Combat is dumb. it consists of a low res ship floating in a black and green grid doing nothing. then, randomly, someones ship will explode, and lose. The sound seems to be someone using a tape recorder to record a TV program, aka sounds terrible. The only thing that is good about this game is the storyline that comes with it, and that Isn't even that amazing, and the cinematics. My advice? Go and buy/download Master of Orion 2. It will keep you occupied for hours on end.Even if it is ancient, it is just as good a most modern games, with all seriousness.
