Don't just look here check other station reviews
This is a good example of the rule look at every station's review if multi-platform. Reviews here are low for the game in my opinion and while turn based rpgs aren't my thing I still love the game great enough to get it again.
While other games might best this in any category it is in, sometimes its okay to get 2nd best thing. This while not the best is hard to think of something better other than Final Fantasy and LOTR TWO TOWERS and RETURN OF THE KING.
If you love LOTR, Turn based RPGS, or just want a game to keep you busy get this game. AND REMEMBER USE BERETHOR'S LEADERSHIP SKILLS.

Awesome, a few flaws though
This game is one of the best i have played. I absolutely loved the storyline, and i like the way they made the characters. I have to say i like Elegost the most. The graphics are a lot better than i expected, it being an older game and all. Now for the complaints. If you ask me its a bit too strategical. i would like it if it gave a little more freedom with your moves. and another thing is that unless you have your speed and dexterity up high then hardly any of your weapon attacks actually hit and the baddies get a ton of attacks. another thing is i dont exactly understand how you do some stuff, like unlock new moves etc.

Good RPG, for that year.
I played this one a few years back, and not being a huge fan of turn-based RPGs, I held on to this one. I guess its because I played it right after the last ring movie came out, so it fed to my enjoyment of the trilogy. The sound effects, graphics, and storyline had some care taken in their development. The downside is, like all turnbased RPGs, combat feels like an agonizingly slow grind to the conclusion. Its still in my game library, and an eventual replay.Right after I do the recient DLC expansion for DA2.

pretty fun
i like a lot and it really lasts you. but the problem is that it should let you roam around more than intsead of being on one path. the cost , graphics, and gameplay is good too. i suggest that you get it!

Good But Not That Good
Of all the Lord of the Rings games that I Played this one was a little off. First I will tell the bad things, the graphics are sub par many slow downs which killed the game alot. The battle system was a bit wacky... the thing I hated the most is when you have somewhat powerful weapons they miss a awful lot. The good thing is the soundtrack, there is an evil mood to gain cool items but when its over its over.

Classic with a twist.
It holds all of the themes and such from the movies but has new characters and greater armor and weapons. The customization is great and well done.

good game.
overall a great game. i found that towards the end the game seemed to get impossibly challenging. although a huge plus for the game was the customization of all the characters. the storyline was great, and the length of the game also kept me interested. the ' epic middle earth scenes got really annoying after about 20 minutes of playing and seemed to be in a random order. battles that included major movie characters where a great addition to this game and i really enjoyed them. the only battle i found to be to difficult with the given movie character was the battle with the witch-king, it took forever! but for me the game offered a better playing experience the second time around because i knew wat these characters where capable of, and i took up looking for side adventures more.

Pretty good game
I kind of like it, but the story ends too soon and you can't customize the characters as much as you would like. There's a lot of new things that aren't in the other LOTR games, like fighting as the bad guys like the Balrog of Morgoth. The graphics are so-so, but the interface and the sound are excellent. It's sort of hard, but it's beatable at any rate. You can't control your characters that well, seeing as it's a turn-based game. Over all, I'd buy it if you like Lord of the Rings and you want more freedom than the other games. There's a lot of weapons and armor, but they're only specific to one character. It's cool that you can use axes, hammers, bows, swords, spears, and other weapons. Plus, you can fight the Balrog and also some Mumakil, or even the Ringwraiths. I liked it.
