Brings hope back to the series.
Absolutely phenominal game. They really did bring this game series back from the brink that was Suikoden IV. I love the game play the length and the sheer beauty that is the scenery and everything else. The new characters, and the War Battles are absolutely well done.

Only for the Patient!
Pros: Beautiful Story
Cons: Slow starter and bad load times
This game would be worth preordering.
The story is so heart warming it might bring tears to your eyes, but sadly the gameplay suffers from this. The game really starts off slow and takes a while to pick up the pace. Having bad load times doesn't help the situation any either. Gameplay was very addictive if not too easy at sometimes. The big catch in this ip was a 6 character format that allows you to swap out with 4 other characters and they add a grid/formation system which gives more depth to battles. If you like the suikoden series and traditional jrpgs then you don't want to miss out on this installment of suikoden because you are honestly going to regret it. Believe it!

Another Suikoden game
Back to looking for another 108 stars of destiny. I rented this game as soon as it came out, after playing the other recent Suikoden games. I loved part 3 and 4 and this one was a pretty good addition but I wasn't addicted to it as I was with the others. I think it's worth a try though. Happy Gaming!

Back to the greatness of Suikoden!
Suikoden V is a great game that returns to the foundation of the Suikoden series. If you enjoyed Suikoden I and II, you'll enjoy this game. The story is about a prince who is trying to reclaim the Queendom which was taken over by the Godwin family. Throughout the story you will recruit the 108 Stars of Destiny (many of which you will be able to use in battle). There are three different types of battle systems. Their is the regular party battle system which returns to its six member battle system, war battles where you will control whole fleets, and one-on-one battles. The music in the game is fabulous. There are some remade songs from Suikoden I and II, but even the new songs are very catchy. The graphics are overall pretty good. Very colorful and the cutscenes are very well done. The length of the game is around 60 hours, but with multiple endings, you might play more than one time. If you enjoy a great story, this is the RPG you want to play.
