Playstation 40GB
I had the 40GB Playstation 3 for almost 5 years when I got home one day to play MLB 11 The Show I just purchased all of suddenly the PS3 shuts down on me it went through an upgrade 3 years ago with new software & hardware I spent over $8500.00 in games I was getting ready to upgrade to a 500GB hard drive for the original design but it died before I take it to my friend to ugrade it for the last time

Don't get it unless you have to/can't get better
Don't get me wrong I love sony and every thing about them but the 40gb is the worst fat model out there. It's the same price as the 20gig and like 20 bucks cheaper then the 60gig (which can play all PS2 games). or even the 4 usb port 80gig (can play some ps2 games) If you have the option between this one and one of them get the other ones even if its the 20gig one, just buy a compatable hard drive and switch it out. Also if possible don't buy the refurbished ones they are 4 times louder. also don't be an idiot ceep it in an openish space.

last for only a few yrs. then ylod
once the ylod appears , sony will only fix for a price., and only warranty for 90 days. most only last just outside the 90 days after repair. the newwer ones have alittle better track record , just not by much.

Oh my God....I love this System
I bought this 40Gb system almost 4 years ago and it's still running great. Thank you Gamestop for a great refurbished console. I use it about every day and will continue to use it. I grew up with Playstation so of course I'll say that it is better. I feel it is an all around more mature and respected console than that of Microsoft's. I recommend this console to everyone looking to have some fun.

well balanced all around good system.
ive played on all major consoles nd this is including Computers as well, i also personally have had 7 xboxs in the past which all have broken previously, in my opinion computers r the best but if ur like me nd cant afford to upgrade ur pc then sony ps3 is the next best thing it doesnt crash as much as the xbox does nd the only reason why the internet is bad sometimes is cause it runs off of wifi nd not everyone has a dedicated router/modem or internet service but system wise with graphics memory nd reliability this system is a great choice for any gamer...

Iv hade this game system for over 2 yers now and i play i avery night for 2 hours or 3 and nock on wood it hasint broke yet so if you are a hard core gamer go with ps3 not a xbox 360 i hade for 1 yere and it broke on my that 1 i didint play avery night so long story short go with a ps3

BEST SYSTEM EVER..XBOX SUCKS
Playstation 3 has 100000x better graphics..Better Video Games...and More things to do plus Blue-ray and the system looks better itself and you also have internet browser and since version 3.66 came out PSN Stopped lagging...IMAGINE 3.70 that just came out 2 days ago... PLAYSTATION 3 ROCKSSS !!!

its ok but not better then xbox 360
in my opinion the xbox 360 is better. ps3 has a few decent games such as imfamous, uncharted, god of war. their online is free but its also super laggy compared to 360 which if u buy a year card ur basically paying $4.44 a month which is really cheap for quality online gaming, they dont have online party chats, cant view ur friends friend list, it cant play ps2 games which is a huge set back and even though many xbox games cant be played on 360 its not much of a disappointment since the only xbox game that were good was halo 1,2, which u can already play both on the 360. web browser is useless for 2 reason, 1 i can just use a computer instead and 2 ps3 cant run flash or codec. ps3 does have a blu-ray player in it but if ur only buying it for the blu-ray u might aswell goto walmart and get a regular blu-ray player for $80. as far as streaming the xbox 360 can stream more different types of audio, video, and picture files then ps3 can. xbox 360 controllers have a nice wieght to it and fits perfect in ur hands compared to the ps3 controllers where there analog stick is really loose, the triggers have to be push down much further for it to register right and d-pad isnt made for fighting type games, and it feels to light in my hands. a decent perk about the ps3 is it can use bluetooth headsets as wireless mic's, and hdd space can be easily replaced with a bigger and cheaper laptop hdd. ps3 playstation move sucks and was a bad idea, its a complete copy of nintendo wii's wii-mote and nunchuck technology
overall the xbox 360 is a better media player for viewing and streaming music/video/pictures, it has better online gaming experience, and better online features. zune marketplace has just as much movies/music as psn movie marketplace in 1080p for just as cheap. sadly it doesnt have 3-D movies but movies in 3-D arent that great anyway cuz they over charge just so they can add 2 or 3 scenes in 3-D plus u need the right tv and hook up. if u want blu-ray u can always just buy a blu-ray player for cheap. i would rate the ps3 higher if only u can play ps2 games on it but sadly i have to use my ps2 system to play my dbz budokai 1,2,3, kingdom hearts 1,2, bloody roar 4, socom 2,3,ca, ect. most people call play 1 game like madden/nba/halo/cod/gears and that will be the only game they play but call themselves hardcore gamers when ther just casual gamers, if ur a true hardcore gamer like me u will get the xbox360/ps3/wii regardless of what i or anyone else says cuz true gamers play anything and everything.
