CoD and Fallout Mixed
This game has controls and game play of Call of Duty, but has a story and feel of Fallout. In my opinion the perfect mix. I would take Fallout over it, but Borderlands over CoD.

What a great experience!
I literally just picked up Borderlands GOTY for absolutely no reason. I wanted to try something new, and I'd heard pretty good things about Borderlands so I decided to pick up the Game of the Year Edition to get the most content out of it. Little did I know at the time, this would go to become one of my favorite games....of all time! Yes, Borderlands is THAT good. Now, Borderlands is certainly not for everyone and there is also a few reasons why I rated it why I chose to. It is not a perfect game, and nor was it meant to be. The experiences and fun times that you'll get out of it though make up for that. I first played the Singleplayer mode from start to finish and though the story was fairly weak, the missions were fun and I actually managed to complete each and every mission and get every trophy for the game on PS3. After beating the game though, I felt like I needed more out of it still because it was a tad bit short for my likings. So, I managed to get a friend of mine to play with me, and what a blast that was! Co-op is really where this game shines and that is a huge factor of why I love Borderlands. Playing with a friend allows you to make plans as to how you are going to complete missions, and that's always fun. Once you actually begin the mission, like for example raiding an enemy camp, things get hectic, and that just adds to the fun. You are constantly helping each other out with your skills and abilities, like having a turret that heals nearby people or increasing a friend's defense. On another note, online co-op is also pretty fun, though maybe not as fun split-screen. It tended to lag quite a bit for me when I tried it so I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have, but whatever. The graphics are cell-shaded, and fit pretty nicely with the game's theme, which is an adventurous FPS-RPG. Maybe it was just me, but I didn't really even notice the music that much but the voice acting and sound effects were certainly superb. I like having free roam to explore wherever you want to and take on any missions I wanted to, so that was nice. And finally, the DLC was just "good", nothing more or less. The different environments were nice but besides the Secret Armory of General Knoxx DLC, nothing new was really added. Borderlands is a pretty amazing game that I hope you'll check out because it really is THAT good.

Thank you Playstation Plus!
I got this game, with all four DLC's for a whopping $15...you heard me right: the entire game for $15. It is by far the best bargain EVER. The graphics are amazing and although people complain they look fake, they are supposed to somewhat look fake because they are "cartoony." Now I'm writing this review with not a whole lot of time spent playing. I am a level 16 as of right now. I will post a "2.0" review after I have played more. I enjoy the fact that your friends can join your campaign and help you out. I have had trouble at certain points and my level 48 friends come in and give me a hand. This game perfectly blends RPG and FPS. There are so many weapons to choose from and you are always finding them when you kill people. The ONLY other thing that I wish I could do is use certain weapons. The high-powered weapons require you to have a high level which makes sense. The game would be simple if you always had the great weapons. I told people that I got this deal and they were shocked because they paid $100 total for this and I got it for $15!

Couldn't be better!
Honestly, Borderlands has the most unquie story line. It has the best potential when it approaches Dialogue. Borderlands will have you on the edge of your seet from time you get it, till after you beat it, over and over again. There character options are spread out with interesting stories. If you don't have this game. Go get it!

Lot of Content
There is a whole lot og content in this game. Playing the game without the DLC takes 30+ hours to beat. Including the DLC it can take you upto a 100 hours. The game blends shooting and Role-Plaing seamlessly. Throw in Online Co-op and you've got one amazing game. This ia a must buy for FPS and RPG fans.

Amazing Game! Great DLC
Borderlands is an amazing mix of RPG character progression mixed with the amazing fast paced action first person shooter. The DLC is awesome as well. I bought borderlands at release and loved it. Then i traded it in to purchase the GOTY version so that i could get all the DLC at once for a great price. The only complaint i have is that it took over two hours to download all 4 Content packs and install them. I don't have bad connection i have really fast comcast high speed and 180 minutes to download DLC is ridiculous! and frustrating! Yet still worth it. Borderlands i love you!

Freakin SWEET!!!
This game is.... well like the title says freakin SWEET! The game play is great for both fans of FPS games and RPG games. With all the gunning action of a FPS and the looting, Leveling, talent trees are the same that Rpg players have come to know well. It makes a nice combination. The story is a good one though at times hard to follow with the many quest you will have in your log. But over all this game has a great replay value to it and I would recommend it to all my friends.

A great mixture of RPG and FPS.
Borderlands is so amazing that words can't describe it. GearBox has created a perfectly executed RPG/FPS mix that easily stands with Fallout 3 at the top of this genre. The story is a bit bland, but the gameplay elements are so rich that it makes up for the basic story. The developers focused on every part, whether it's the unique cell-shaded graphics or the frantic, teamwork-based online Co-Op. Not only that, but the price is a complete steal! The Game of The Year Edition includes the original game, all 4 DLC expansions, and a foldout map of Pandora, the fictional setting of the game. All of this for only $40! The four DLC added together equal the same amount! For all of these reasons and more, I highly suggest that you purchase Borderlands: Game Of The Year Edition!
