F.E.A.R.- R.O.C.K.S. !!!
When I first picked up F.E.A.R. 2 I really didn't know what to expect out of this game. I'm really into games that shock you and have on the edge of your seat while playing ( always a good incentive when choosing any game).
After playing F.E.A.R. 2 I was really anxious going back and picking up the first one. I was very surprised to find out the first one and F.E.A.R files were equally as good as the second one. I also got F.E.A.R 3 about 3 months ago and these games get better and better every time I play them. The graphics are superb and the sound quality is fantastic especially running through a 5.1 surround sound system, you hear all kinds of eerie noises and sounds in the background that catch you off guard at many points of playing any of the F.E.A.R. games. so.. if you are really into first person shooters I highly recommend checking the F.E.A.R. series out. Even though I didn't give a 10 rating only because I have yet to play any game that has a perfect track record but, I do give this game a solid 9 across the board and do recommend it and any of the other F.E.A.R. games to anyone who is into gory and violent games like myself , you will not be disappointed.

Boring
Honestly the whole time i played this was just one yawn after another and it surprised me considering that half life one and two were done by the same people and both of those are excellent honestly rent it first or don't just not the greatest game out there.

FEAR!!!!
This game is one of the best shooter games i have ever played. For one thing the story mode is flawless. Also the shooting is very real. When you shoot someone in the leg for example, it will pop right off and blood will squirt out of the leg. I have to say it was pretty scary when the skeleton poped out at you in the blood pool. This is a great game I recomend it.

Save your money, many better games......really
Honestly, this was just not fun or good at all. For starters, there are many other great games around this range. Examples: dark sector, bionic commando, resistance:fall of man, street fighter 4, and many more. Furthermore, the map/areas in this game were very bulky and objects would have that bad out-dated invisible force field perimeter around them. This applied not only to random objects in the distant areas but things that would be used as legitimate platforms/defensive structures (since the game was a shooter after all). The gameplay in general was not very appealing: bad guns, annoying computer/ai to fight against (and not even in the challenging way, and lastly, the health system was just not efficient. The slow-mo affect, i must admit, was cool but it was really the only good thing i found in this game. I tried to get into on numerous occasions but just couldn't. Please, (reader) do yourself a favor and get a different game, or just save up a bit more and get a game that would actually be very enjoyable. This game is outdated and dysfunctional in so many way. Have enough self respect not to waste your money on this one.

Good game i recommended it.
The first day i got it i was confused until i got the hag of it and actually stated to suck less, the first time having my freaking out moment is what got me hooked to this game til the end. The graphics are OK, now if your the kind of guy that wants realist graphics then dont bother but its still fun. Gameplay is fun and addictive. a little work on the game would have been OK like graphic design update and sound.sill I recommend it and its worth your money sorry if i took you time hope you enjoy this review.

Good Game On PS3, But Better Game on PC
The game begins with a very interesting intro scene, which shows Paxton Fettel getting control over a whole army of clone soldiers, which in result capture and occupy a research facility under his command. You yourself are a recruit into First Encounter Assault Recon - a squad mainly concentrated upon investigating paranormal happenings.
The first level starts with you sent inside the captured facility, and while running through and shooting a whole brigade of clone soldiers through the building, you encounter some visions of your mind at specific locations, some of them are just memories, but some are really spooky visions including Alma - a small dead girl appearing in unexpected moments. Even though Alma is considered only a vision at beginning, she later on, murders a whole bunch of innocent people using a sort of psychic force. You sometimes even encounter her in close range, and since she is immortal, the only choice is to back off from her; otherwise she will kill you instantly. She also calls in demons from parallel dimensions, which are dangerous only when in large numbers, since they are taken down with a shot or two from any weapon.
In this FPS you progress through the game alone as the point man of F.E.A.R. using a variety of different guns such as the assault rifle, plasma sniper, auto shotgun, multi rocket launcher, and a variety of grenades. Yet, your most important ability is your ultra fast reflexes, which can be activated in short bursts to create a Matrix-like bullet time. Now, bullet time has been done to death over the past few years, but the execution of bullet time in F.E.A.R. is still well done. When you kick in the reflexes, everything else slows down, and you can see the vortexes in the air created by bullets. You can activate this ability only in short bursts before it runs out. However, because it recharges at a decent rate, you have it at your disposal in most fights. This slow-motion ability is almost essential for surviving some of the tougher battles, as you'll need it to whittle down the odds. With that said, it would almost be better if there were more of a limit on its use, because F.E.A.R. really comes alive when the firefights are shown in full speed, not slow motion.
Graphics- Monolith has done an outstanding job combining such outstanding visuals with an addicting spooky game play even though the spooky moments of the game are quite short. Scary things appear here in such unexpected places, that it stops you from continuing playing the game for some seconds, especially when Alma suddenly appears running towards you in the vent, believe me, this is one of the most spookiest moment the gaming industry ever offered. But the scary parts are not only about visual, but also about the spooky sounds, which are all around the game; the sound effects are truly perfectly conducted and combined along with the game play process.
Unfortunately, the PS3 version takes a number of hits when it comes to presentation. Part of the problem is that it's built around a two-year-old PC game, so it's already looking very dated by the glossy, state-of-the-art standards of 2007. However, that doesn't explain the PS3 version's other issues. First of all, F.E.A.R. looks washed out and fuzzy on the PS3. This is in contrast to the sharpness and crispness of the PC version. The lighting and shadowing effects aren't as atmospheric on the PS3 version, either. To top it all off, the PS3 version suffers from tediously long load times and an erratic frame rate that's noticeable even when there's not a lot of action onscreen. At least the audio in F.E.A.R. is outstanding. In a game that's all about making you afraid of the dark, it's often the little noises that send you spinning around, ready to blast whatever it is that made the sound. Combat also sounds glorious. You can hear almost every single noise in a firefight, such as glass shattering apart, spent brass cartridges hitting the floor, and the thud of explosions. The voice acting is generally good, though the mixing could be better, as it's sometimes hard to hear the dialogue over everything else.
Recommendation- I would suggest buying the PC version. Even though the PC version is two years older than the PS3 and Xbox. The graphics are of highly better quality and the game play is more enjoyable on a PC, especially if you wear headphones and play with the lights out.

Slow-Mo, Horror, Fun?
I purchased these game awhile ago and i found it pretty enjoyable. If your a fan of survival-horror games or just like to be scared, you might like these game. I think that the story is okay, but sometimes found myself saying, "What?!" or "Huh?!" alot. There are some parts in the game that will have you jump at times or get creeped out, but nothing too extreme. This game is pretty difficult at times. I would find myself dying multiple times, trying hopefully to get to the next widely-spaced checkpoint. This game is long, the graphics are 'mmhh', and the sound is great (except when you try to hear people speak over the intercom or listen to messages on the telephones). There is multiplayer, but nothing special. All and all, if you like scary games with wierd storylines, you just might enjoy this game.
