Gets Boring in a Few
Yes, I liked this game when I played career and everything, and then it got boring because all I could do was play some songs and nothing would happen. Then, for quick play, it was the same thing. At first, it's awesome and everything, but then it gets very boring in a few days. Music's great though.

THIS is what Guitar Hero was made for!!!!!!!!!
Metallica. That word alone has you reeling with thoughts of tharshing metal and amazing riffs, licks and solos. It's transition from real guitar to a plastic form is great fun. The songs are great, I would have liked more, but from what was chosen, it's a great setlist. The guest artist are cool and all, but I would have definately liked more Metallica. The gameplay is the same with all guitar heroes. Hit the corresponding colors on screen to the ones on the guitar, but you will miss a lot of notes because of how much fun your having, if you're a Metallica fan, like I am. The song selection is great, ranging from some of their oldies to a few more recent ones. It has a great song selection that can't leave you bored. The graphics are great for when this game came out. They look just like the members of the band and their likeness and movements are captured very well. This is a great game for a ny metal fan, and an amazing game for any Metallica fan. THe fast solos and great guitar are what guitar hero was made for. I played this game WAY too much for my own good. If you want a challenge, get this game and play it on expert and expert+ with drums. Good luck or good riddance. This may be a bit biased (just a little bit), but a 5 out of 5 in my book. Unbiased though, 4 out of 5.

Best Guitar hero yet, but Metallica has been my favorite band since 1984 so I might be slightly biased.

Best Guitar Hero Yet
I have been a Metallica fan most of my life, and I thought not too long ago after GH:3 released was a Guitar Hero:Metallica because the song One was on GH:3. After they released Aerosmith, I thought, yes they could be making a Metallica or AC/DC because they made a band-exclusive GH. I saw Rockband AC/DC track packs and I was like, yes Metallica is for Guitar Hero. Onto my review, sorry for wasting your time, my fellow snowflakes. Guitar Hero: Metallica is the best guitar hero to come out, so far. The variety of songs is superb, from rock (Thin Lizzy) to Heavy Metal that blows out your eardrums (Slayer, Machine Head). It sucked that they didn't make any Guitar Hero exclusive instruments just for Metallica, something like a Metallica guitar, James' for example, his metal-plated gibson V. That would look pretty sweet for a guitar hero guitar. But there was that one drum addition, thank god. The double bass pedal is a good feature, plus the expert+ mode. I don't have drums or mic, but I really want them. Plus the difficulty of the songs on the guitar, so there's a good variety from people that can't really play good, to alright players, to guitar hero gods, (I'm one of them). Out of 5*'s, this one gets a 5 for sure. If you say it doesn't, I'm coming to your house, lol.

Good for GH, not really overall though
Out of all of the band specific games that have and are slated for release, I thought that the Aerosmith game was going to be the best one, but unfortunately it came out first and they tweaked all the little things and came out with Metallica. The game is well crafted in a musical sense. The bands that they included in the game are fantastic when it comes to relating to Metallica and their influences etc, so for those of you who don't know a thing about music, that's why Bob Segar and the Silver Bullet Band and Lynyrd Skynyrd are in the game. That and Metallica did a fantastic cover of Turn the Page, which I'd hope you would know if you were a fan... But that's beside the point. The game is obviously solely about Metallica in their entirety when it comes to their career as the title kind of points out. The song selection is great from the band itself and the Expert+ was a nice change for some of us that have played drums before and don't like playing a dumbed down version. Granted it's much different to play Master of Puppets on this game than in real life as I found out haha. It's fun, but it is what it is, a virtually one-dimensional look into the career of one of the most famous bands in the world.

GH Metallica is great!!
If your a Metallica fan, this game will not disappoint. It covers all the classics and even new stuff on the latest album. I bought the death magnetic DLC album and those songs can also be played on this game. The graphic are cool and the band looks like your watching them live onstage! The levels of difficulty are great for those who are new to these rock titles because as most metallica songs are difficult to play anyone can have fun on different levels. I personally like the drums so i am wanting to get the extra kick pedal. An Awesome game that finally rocks!! you can go through career and starts of with you playing "for whom the bell tolls" and from there on you will feel like your on stage and even the fans get into it and sing with the songs. Go get it!!

Metallica
this game has a wide variety of metallica songs to choose from including 10 more for ps3 if you download the death magnetic album. Other songs are also available for gameplay from artists such as corrosion of conformity, motorhead, the sword, most of which opened for them in some concerts. the difficulty level is decent there is also a beginner mode which makes things super easy by just having you strum to the beat. online play is great and challenging. The sound is decent but is quieter than i expected. The graphics and animation are amazing and detail of the band members are great. The songs are great and mostly composed of older songs and in my opinion the better songs. The tutorials are more in depth then many of the other games. Overall this is a great game and i recommend it to anyone who is a fan of metallica or even just guitar hero.

If you like Metallica!
Well, if you like Metallica you will love the Metallica songs. The other songs included don't seem to fit along with the Metallica songs, they are simply out of place. When I read the included bands I thought, OK there are some good ones and not so good but we will see. Well, even the metal bands that are included could have had better songs. Then there are bands like Bob Seger and Lynyrd Skynyrd, really, I mean really? Come on guys, half the bands they included honestly aren't that good and shouldn't be on a disk with Metallica. I won't even go into why they included "live" songs. If you like Mettalica you will love their songs but the others are quite a let down. As for the game itself it has the same quirks that Guitar Hero has always had. You can be quite a bit off on the timing and it will still count the note or hit. As for the drums I'm using the IONs and about every 4th song or so it suddenly disconnects and your stuck exiting the game completely to get it back into a normal mode. So as far as compatibility with other drum sets it gets a D-. I say D- because it does the same with my RB2 drums also.

stop it
they should stop making GH games focusing on one band and just put it all into one guitar hero game and that would be a whole lot better.
