Does not even compete with Ultimate Destruction
I was really hyped for this game. While just running around and blowing up everything in your path was nice, there were a lot of things I noticed that I couldn't stand about the game. My first complaint was you never see the Hulk transform and the voice acting is so bad it's mind aching. Overall this really was not a big leap forward for a Hulk game, your better off with Ultimate Destruction if you still have a PS2.

Could be better...
This could've been much better in many ways: The sound was wierd at times, there are some major glitchs every so often. But the gameplay is pretty good, there is free roam or you can replay the story missions using the map. You fight soldiers, tanks, helicopters, the Abomination, trucks, robots, Bi-Beast, tye U-foes and more. The length is long but I took one mark away because it can be a little boring sometimes. Some of the missions that you play are: Fighting a boss, fighting the military, protecting someone, etc. There are several costumes to play as like: Hulk, Cartoon Hulk, Grey Hulk, Hulkbuster Iron Man armor, Abomination, Iron Clad, etc. To be honest, not many people like this, but you might.

Great Game, Real Fun...
For Being a licensed game its well worth a buy or at least a rent. Being able to go anywhere and choose missions is great. Also being able to destroy almost anything is also great. Never had a problem with camera angles or anything. Jumping around from building to building was a fun experience. The story line tries to follow the movie but it derails to other objectives. This game is pretty much a Hulk Ultimate Destruction sequel, but with really well done upgraded graphics. I got this game for the ps3 but if you get it on 360 at launch i think you would have got a chance to unlock the Gamestop exclusive red Hulk, which you cant unlock in the game. Other Than being able to change costumes they tried to add online play as a free download, i tried to find someone on the servers but no one was ever playing.......

AWESOME!
First off, I've heard there were some serious issues with the camera controls in this game. I personally had next to none. In fact, for a game of this type I was surprised at how WELL the camera worked. I’ve played Hulk titles before and I'm aware that they’ve ranged from terrible to decent, so I was a bit worried when I first started out. But once you get out of the cramped tutorial into the open world New York City this game really opens up and is an experience that’s truly "incredible". The controls work great and the game does a good job of making you feel very, very powerful. Everything in the environment is destructible, and I mean everything. If you wanna knock down the empire state building then be my guest. Just about anything you see can also become a weapon. Tanks become maces, cars become steel gauntlets, and lamp posts are basically a fifteen foot baseball bat. Nothing complex here, it’s the basic and expected "hulk smash!" routine, but lets be honest: that’s exactly why you want to play this. The game is simple and easy but it does exactly what it’s meant to do and that’s to make you an unstoppable green juggernaut. As much as I can rave about this game there’s issues that cause it too fall short of an even better game. Although the controls are terrific I would have liked to see a much, much larger combo list. The hulks combos of heavy and light punches can most likely be counted on your fingers. Graphically this game is strange.... there are moments when I’m playing that I love them and moments where I hate them. The hulk himself looks great, bristling with finely detailed muscle. But the rest of the cast during the cut scenes look dreadful, like lifeless ugly marionettes. Betty and the others look rushed and are graphically unimpressive. For most part the rest of the game look very good, but there’s is an insane pop-up issue even for even close buildings. normally with such a detailed massive city pop-up is expected and permissible, but when a huge building only a few blocks away suddenly pops up that’s unforgivable, and I feel the PS3 has more then enough power to not let that happen. Another graphic issue is the texture for things. Textures sometimes appear up to 30 seconds after you have been interacting with an item. I would be climbing a building and then all of the sudden the detail pops up. Aside from these issues the city is generally amazingly full of life and small detail. It really feels like a living breathing New York City. There’s dozens of famous landmarks to see. I found the animations to be very good as well. I’ve played a large portion of this game both in standard resolution and 1080i and the high def version does really look amazing and makes the city that much more lifelike. Basically this game is another potential....Hulk if you will, but as too often happens the rush to get it out with the movie leaves some flaws that bring it short. But what this really comes down to is fun and for about a week this game is a blast. The open world is what the Hulk needs and this game utilizes to every potential. This is a game you have to play, but unless you’re a die hard fan id rent it.

"You wouldn't like me when I'm angry"
I love the fact that more and more games are moving to the open area game play. "Do anything go anywhere" There is nothing worse in a game, then being controlled or told what to do or where to go. When I read the new Incredible Hulk would be open game play, and every building in the city was able to crumble,.... that sold me instantly! What's more fun then being able to do whatever you want. Though there is still a few things missing in these type games, that don't make it perfect yet, it's still worthy of a purchase. I don't like animated story line sequences that interrupt the games, that's what comics are for. Maybe one in the beginning is fine, then no more. Marvel Alliance went overboard with this. All that work making those stories, and taking up more space, could of went toward the actual game making it better, if any game makers are listening...or just make them extras, but keep them out of the main game, just no fun. Getting back to this Hulk game, I miss the taunt feature that Hulk Ultimate Destruction had. You roar and scare people off their feet. That was a plus, wonder what happened to that. I also don't care for the Hulk roar in this one. The old classic TV series had the best Hulk roar ever. Let's keep things original! That's always the best! Instead of going on missions finding little stars or whatever, why not have the villains just out and about in the city somewhere doing what they do? Like small time crooks robbing banks, or big time villains blowing up buildings?..and you can choose weather to help them or Hurt them! and if you help them the cops attack you like in gta. Instead of these predefined stories. Even gta lacks this idea. I would like to see more real world environments, if you kill something, then it's gone,... you don't have to do it again, because that's the way the story goes or wants you to do it....that stinks and turns me off to these games. One last thing I never can understand about these Hulk games, (with the exception of one on the snes) is you never get to play as banner! That would be great walking around the city like gta, then someone makes you mad, or shoots you and you Hulk out! I was hoping to see that in this game being it was open play, but maybe next time! Far as the graphics, the general controls, and game play are very good. I purchased the game and am happy that there is a decent Hulk game out there, Hulk fans will love it maybe not for the story but just what you can do and how it looks. I read some reviews that Hulk UD was better than this, but I would say they both have strong and weak points. If you are a Hulk fan, you should have both in your game library. If you are wishing to turn to Banner, and back to the Hulk, then you should also look for the old Hulk game that was on the (SNES). Overall, this game looks better, and just the idea of being able to destroy anything in the city! That's what sold me! Very cool, and great way to let off steam.

Awesome game
I couldn't disagree with the previous poster more. I seldom buy games and mostly rent, but I was really glad I bought this game! This is easily one of the best purchases I've made in quite a while. I was very hesitant when I saw this title as Hulk titles in the past have been hit or miss but I LOVE this game. I feel that the developer captured the Hulk and his unique abilities brilliantly. The graphics are beatuful but I run the resolution at 1080i. I've played games in the past with terrible camera control and position but once you get out of the confined area of the tutorial the camera functions very well. My favorite part of this game is the ability to play virtually any Hulk version from the comic book including Hulk Busting Ironman armor. Truely an amazing game, move over Spider-man there's a new guy in NY City.
