Great game, needs new commentary though.
The title says it all. Great graphics, sound, gameplay can be choppy, but Drew Remenda and Randy Hahn r the worst annoncers!

NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER BUY THIS GAME!!!
NHL 2K10 is likely the worst game I have ever played, EVER. The music is terrible (this is a hockey game for Christ's sake!), the zamboni game is incredibly stupid, the menu screens are annoying as hell, and the controls are so complicated that you may as well just sit on your controller and squeeze your butt-cheeks together, because your gonna get exactly the same result trying to figure out how they work. Graphics and sound are above average, but create a team manages to be the exact opposite of what NHL 10 is. Classic logos and custom team names, but very limited uniform and color selection. By far the worst game I have ever owned for PS3, sport and non-sport games alike. Trust me, do yourself a favor and shell out the extra few Jackson's for NHL 10, or go cheap and pick up NHL 09. You won't regret it.

nhl 2k10 vs nhl 09
ok lets talk about nhl 10 the thing is the graphics on the players are awesome and the skill stick was a great idea cause thats how it is on the ice ive played hockey for 17 years but the stadiums all look the same the crowd isnt really in to it ok big deal glass bangers i mean there is no boooos in the game about anything if they start doing the stadiums more realistic like in 2k10 the game would be the best hockey game on this planet if 2k really steps it up and make the players look more real they could compete with nhl from ea sports i mean 2k has really stepped it up from 2k7 2k8 and 2k9 those were horrible this game reminds of nhl 06 on ps2 my favorite nhl game on ps2 this game is alot of fun to play especially if your a hockey fan all 2k needs to do is have the skill stick and it would be great game and improve the player graphics

Great Game!!!
As a rapid hockey fan I tried both NHL 10 and NHL 2k10. I would say that I am happy with NHL 2k10 because the controls are better then the one's on nhl 10. First off I would say that NHL 10 has some good game intros and when I play the sharks they play my favorite song Green Day "know your enemy". Also when a team scores a goal the fans stand up. In NHl 2k10 the pre game intros are very good when the game is finished loading the lights turn off then suddenly the logos of the team appear on the ice. Also I play the Phoenix Coyotes because they are my favorite team and My grandparents live their. When I play the coyotes the pre game intros are good. When the lights turn off a coyote appears on the ice. movement of the players. NHL 2k10 is a better game!!!

Disapointment
I have been an avid fan of the 2K series since it was first introduced in 2000. Since then i have been on board for all releases. This year was a HUGE disapointment. The interface is horrible and there is a weird feeling to the movement of the players, its like theyre stuck in quicksand. NHL 2K9 was a lot better. I thought i would get used to it but i didnt. The graphics in this game are good and the intros are nice but the overall controls are not that good. I dont like what they did with the "ovechkin dekes" button. Pretty much all you do is get close to the goalie and hit that button and it will "deke" and shoot. I dont like it, some might. I just returned the game for NHL 10. NHL 10 is superior in gameplay and interface and the controls are more of what im used to. The board play in NHL 10 is a GREAT feature missing from 2k10. I'm disapointed i had to jump ship.

I own 2K10 and EA's NHL 10...Honest Review
As a rabid hockey fan, I went out and grabbed both games this morning. EA has been reliably great over the past few years, 2K has had a rough time so I wanted to give them both a shot. First off, 2K10 has some really great intros/presentations. The stadiums/lighting and pregame hype look amazing. The players faces are more accurate than NHL 10 and the stadium sounds seem more lively. Sadly, that's all I have to say about 2K10 as positives. What starts off as a great looking game crumbles as soon as you start playing a real game. My biggest complaint is the skating speed. The developers said they wanted to "slow things down a little", but good lord. When you have Ovechkin or Crosby gassing out and coming to a slow crawl on a fast break when they hit mid ice, something is very very wrong. I can't explain it but the skating feels like the skaters are being held back by invisible rubber bands. They move in the direction you want them too, but they are so slow, it starts becoming painful. But the weird thing is, the puck speed ISN'T slowed at all...so you have a very odd feeling game. Puck zipping around the ice at 100MPH, but the players are as slow as molasses. Shots are made by pushing the square (no right stick swings), and the responsiveness is very hit or miss. You'll have wide open shots, mash the button and wait for 2 seconds while the game figures out what you are attempting to do. Very frustrating. I'm never one to tell anyone what to buy, but if you are a hockey fan and work for your money, do yourself a favor and at least rent this game first. If you compare the two, you'll see that NHL 10 (EA's game) is much much better.
