The Prince Returns
Ok I'd actually give this game an 8.5 but I rounded off to 9 instead. First things first, the new graphics. While the new graphics of the game is definitely a big change from previous PoP games, it is actually very beautiful. The game is like an artwork and it is very pleasing to the eyes. After seeing all these "realistic looking games," this is a breath of fresh air. The length of the game is pretty decent. On average, it would probably take 12-14 hours to finish, WITHOUT collecting all the seed of light (in-game collectibles...gives trophy when collected), which could easily add 4-5 hours to the game. The storyline is similar to the previous PoP games and even Zelda games...unexpected hero comes, darkness covers land, hero vanquishes darkness, land restored to light. The controls is strikingly familiar with other PoP games which will make fans feel welcome. The new Prince is also remarkably light hearted and funny. You can also free roam the entire game landscape. I'm happy that Ubisoft veered away from the linear gameplay the previous PoP games adapted. Now time for the negative side. Ubisoft made the game more open to gamers including casual gamers. This made the challenge a bit toned down. For example, in the game if you fall, Elika saves you instantly. Practically you can't die! However, by doing this Ubisoft practically gave a new checkpoint system because Elika lands you back to land. This gives the game fluidity. The game is also somewhat lighter in tone than previous PoP games. I liked the dark tone of the previous games which makes the new PoP a bit disappointing (not by much though lol). This game is still very much recommended in my opinion! It is for both casual gamers and PoP fans. Hardcore players though, look elsewhere this might not be the game for you...unless you're a PoP fan of course. This is a very nice addition to the PoP franchise!

Awsome Game
this game was great. It was a great adventure game. the graphics were amazing and the story was real good. the controls were something you had to get use to. the one on one fighting was kindve anoying though. it wasnt a traditional prince of persia but it like i said it was a great game. i recommend this game for anyone who loves adventures.

Messed up my gamerscore
All this game has to offer is a truly stunning environment, however that doesn't compensate for the lack of action and battles. So far as I know the other games in this series are supposed to be truly amazing (because I haven't played any others) but you do in this game is spend 10 minutes trying to get to the boss of a location doing some parkour and tyring not to fall, should be sent back to the beginning if you do. Though the parkour was decently done, many games feature it, such as Assassin's Creed and Infamous, but they also have an intriguing story and much to do other than just your basic Mario type "complete this level and move on," kind of thing. I completed two levels and got sick of it. I wasn't about to be dragged on a long boring mission.

Perfect Free Time Game
Prince of Persia is a repetitive game in the end, four bosses four "levels" on the way for each boss and collect a certain number of seeds to unlock more "levels." however when you play the game it does not feel repetitive, Elika your companion has a magical gift from a god and with that you can't die, instead once you fall or about to die she saves you and she takes you back to solid ground which means there is a new checkpoint around 1-30seconds. take it either as a good thing or a bad thing. i enjoyed it because then i don't have to worry about going through an area i went through already. I can just go back to where i messed up creating more time for exploring and furthering my story. Which helps the game feel less repetitive since you don't have to go back to a certain loading area.
The combat requires reaction time in attacks, combos, parrying, and dodging. which i personally thought was thrilling.
Many people compare this to Zelda, i can see a slimmer of resemblance but Prince of Persia has less puzzles which is one flaw i had in the game. I don't want a puzzle every level but more than 4 or 5.
For eight bucks it is way worth it, just go into the game realizing that its different and don't bring a cynical view to the humorous dialogue.
4 out of 5 stars for me can't wait for the continuation of it.

Great game! Very fun! But...
Having played it a few years back on PC I really enjoyed the game very much. Very creative and a different set up than the older PoP's which, imo, worked out very nicely. BUT........... I ordered a pre-owned copy from the gamestop website and they sent me some bonus content blue ray instead. Basically a disk with some vids on how the game was made, pictures and the soundtrack..... very disappointing when I eager to get off work and enjoy the game once again.... Argh! In short, try it out for yourself, just don't get your hopes up when it arrives after ordering a pre-owned copy.

A swing and a miss.....
This game was very disappointing on so many levels. Let me being with the one good thing that i personally like about this game, i liked the game play when battling enemies, the reason why i say this is because i could experiment with the different combo's that i could use depending on what kind of attack i was going. Sometimes i felt like i was watching a cut scenes when doing the combo's though. Also, i like the graphics, i am weak for a game that looks like a cartoon so it may be only me. But everything else is bad (this is were my review goes down, down, down) the story line disgust me, compared to the previous Prince of Persia's in the past this one is sad. Also, with the addition of the girl following you preventing you from dying made it easier for my to accept messing up and kind of made my game play sloppy. Overall this game was bad. It's defiantly a no buy.

good
this is a pretty fun game. it's not as good as the sands of time trilogy though. there are some big differences with this game: new characters, new setting, different controls, and this is a bit more like an open world game. despite the different controls, the combat and platforming still feel like prince of persia. this is a good game

A unique gaming experience.
This game is amazing. When you first start this game you'll first notice that the graphics are stylish and cool and not the type of graphics you see in most games today. The controls are smooth and are easy to pick up. The best part about this game is it's platforming. Probably this best platforming I've ever seen in a game since the first Prince of Persia on Sega Genesis/ SNES. Now there are 2 things I don't like about this game. 1. You can never die because let's say you miss a jump and fall, rather than dieing this girl named Elika who's with you saves you. 2. The combat system is good but boring and nothing special. But overall one of the best games I've ever played.

Really a Great Game!
This was the first PS3 game I ever got. I got rid of it within a few days because I thought it was boring. But then, I played it at a friend's house and saw how awesome it was. I bought the game again and realized it wasn't boring at all (it is a bit repetitive, but it's easy to get past that). You see, the first time I didn't play enough of it to fight one of the Corrupted or unlock any magical abilities. The boss battles are really epic, and each boss has its own special abilities and tactics. This game is so unique, and that's why I love it. Even the graphics are unique. I saw a review saying that the graphics for this game suck. What they obviously didn't see was that the graphics are beautiful in their own way; the whole game is like a moving piece of artwork, and that, I believe, was Ubisoft's goal. So many people are stuck on the idea that only realistic graphics are any good. I recommend this game to casual gamers because there aren't that many fights. The almost constant fighting like in the past PoP games doesn't appear, which I was a bit disappointed about. However, it allows for a better focus on the amazing acrobatics, beautiful environment, and magic abilities! Again, this is a great game, and I hope they continue on it.
