some loading/lag, grind & tedious tasks, no multi, lots of reading no english dub, no guide support, some stuff down scaled
buy "Record of Agarest War Zero" first, then come get the regular edition of this game if you love turn based jrpg especially strategic grid based ones like this
For parents who are worried about their children buying this game, don't be. This is literally for teens even though they market it like it has all this rated M stuff in it. It does dish out fan service, but no where near for it to be any higher than rated T. If you are a Final Fantasy fan or just a turn based jrpg fan then I can't see why you are not craving for this game. I know it uses sprites and it is not a AAA title, yet you should give it a chance. Avoid the reviews that bad mouth it. We all know they don't like the genre anyways so why should they review it or us pay attention to them?
Before you read any further, you might want to buy "Record of Agarest War Zero" because it does feature transfer data. You'll get a bonus of Silver Bar x99, Platinum Bar x99, Mythril x99, Orichalcum x99, Black Bustier, Princess Tiara, Proof of Princess, 1,000,000 Gold, 1,000 PP, and 10,000 TP. Also take advantage of some of the free misc dlc.
This pervy game is exclusive to the PS3 with MOVE compatibility at a screen resolution of 720 HD. At the very beginning you can customize your characters base stats, growth of stats, and what weapons he can use. In turn, affecting your off spring stats depending on what bride you breed with and how much she likes you.
There is a whole bunch of dialogue. We are talking about a 60 hour game and not including new game plus. Can we please get some english voice overs? Sometimes you will have to grind and you'll get a little lag from loading issues. It doesn't help that you have to do tedious tasks as well, but you can try to break this up with fun mini games like massaging the heroes soon to be brides. With all this hard work into your characters you wish to fight against other people online, but all they have is a leader board. Make sure to write down some of those usernames because they are your best chance, other than google, in helping you if you get stuck. There is no official guide.
One of the things that makes this game so interesting besides that it is also a visual novel with dating sim elements and has cool combat animation. Is how broken things can be in a good way. Don't be surprise in a boss battle if the boss is doing some insane stuff, but you can be equally as insane if you work for it. If you feel it is too hard though just change the difficulty setting. The gameplay is very interactive and deep. It is something similar to Xeno Saga except you also have to deal with formations, stringing together combos, group attacks, and needing the requirements to meet said attacks. For some people this will get confusing especially if you don't pay attention in the beginning and there is no auto. Veterans will easily hop in. They might be disappointed about the down scaled to just 4 characters on the field and only 3 generations to work with, but will appreciate the revamped/improved battle system.
The Limited edition content is everything you would expect and it was cheap at 60$, but the hand towel does look a little ragged. The blow up doll is definitely the best though. The art book is your typical rated T fanservice. There is a collector's edition, but that is only for europe. Over there it is called "Agarest: Generations of War 2."
Pretty darn good.
I really like how this game looks and feels. It is exactly what you would expect out of a JRPG. The characters are likable but most of them feel depressing or over happy about some situations they are in. The game is NOT for beginner JRPG or RPG gamers. learning how to teach your characters skills and what not can be confusing. specially since the game only gives about a 10 minute tutorial. I can't really say anything bad about the game beside some parts in the story seem to take forever to "GET ON WITH IT" and some of the japanese dialoge gets annoying to hear after countless battles, as the characters like to repeat what they say after the battle commences and ends. Overall I really like this game and would recommend it to anybody who like's JRPG's. Oh if you can buy yourself the limited edition, Comes with some out of the ordinary stuff. (inflatable Felenne doll, art book, Hand towel?) I got some pretty good laughs out of that when I got myself the limited edition.
big fan of JRPGs. if you like things like final fantasy or tales or even persona, you'll probably like this too.
I really enjoyed the new things that they added into part two, because even though the first one was pretty repetitive, this one is added a new battle system that was enjoyable. I really like the part of this game where is takes lots of time, because it enables the story to be able to be so long, I really enjoyed the generation system, the graphics honestly are almost perfect because it brings me back to the older simpler games that have great story and battle systems, although if they made the game less repetitive, the game would be so much more better.
Your joking right
Let me start by saying although it would have been nice to have some english voice acting, not even that would have saved this game. The story for this game is typical but ok. The combat system is downright awful and the repetition of going to a story point is boring after awhile. Maybe argarest war 3 will be better. Try tales of graces f if you want a fun rpg to play.
WAs upset i felt lied too.
The game was just ok. Im more upset and feel lied to the developers said this would have english voice acting and it did not. I was most hyped for this reason that this would finally have english voice acting. Otherwise the game is EXACTly the same and i liked the OLD battle system better i do not like this new battle system at all. All in all not a good game.
OMFG CAN'T WAIT
this game is going to be even more awesome than the previous 2 installments if that is even possible was checking out the battle system of the jp version and it looks solid I'M SO HYPED FOR THIS GAME IT NEEDS TO BE OUT NOW
record of Agarest War 1. Zero. and 2 are really entertaining JRPGs
record of Agarest war trilogy has by far in my opinion of playing RPG games over the past 16 years of my life has been great it has love betrayal comedy strategy action an awesome storyline a good 2000 hours of gameplay and marriage whaa marriage !!! yes marriage is one of the main attributes of the record of Agarest war trilogy is its ability to choose the hero for the next generation via marriage to a heroine whether the girl likes you or not is based of the decisions that you make during the game should we break down the enemy fortress or just go around and attack from behind depending on the choices you make and who you marry the stats of the next generation hero will be affected by this aka if your son is strong or not
if you have watched an anime then i suggest you give this a try the limited edition is 59.99 but the reg edition is 49.99 my rating is 5/5 for the story and length of the game also there are add-ons for this game some free and some not so free but there all pretty cheap and i mean really cheap cheap not no 20 bucks and only get 3 items im talking about 20 bucks and 33 items swords armors extra dungeons content ect
now this game si advertised as a sexually based game but
don't worry about its clean for all you teens out there no nudity at all maybe a side-boob but *ahem* that's beside the point no nudity at all
