Great all around game. Challenging, which makes it even better. Just wished more people played online.

TOTALLY worth a look at if your big into cars
Realistic looks, dramatic feel, amped up soundtrack, and filled to the grill with adrenaline, this game makes you feel less like a race car driver and more like a pilot. It's like Need For Speed mixed with the dramatic effects of the latest Medal of Honor title (Makes sense mainly due to the fact that there both EA titles). Keep in mind, it's very hardcore (Even for a guy like me that's addicted to simulators like Gran Turismo and the original Shift) and requires practice to get it right. But if and when you tame this Gnarly game, it's got some serious pay off with addicting effects, gut wrenching speed, superb SoundFX, and Gorgeous Looking cars. And, with the addition of DLC like cars and tracks straight out of the past (1960-70's), and Drag Racing/ Standing Mile events, this game is like a lullaby to any and all Automotive Enthusiasts. Summary: Pro's - Intense Gameplay, Stellar Soundtrack, Mind-Bending visuals Con's - Learning curve, at times frustrating, kind of short

SHIFT 2..What could have been..
[what could have been] a Fantastic 'SIM/Arcade" Hybrid,"SHIFT 2" missed the mark big time,first off~ just let me fill in a few of the people who have Called "SHIFT 2" a "SIM"..it is NOT a "SIM" ..not even close guys,if you want a "SIM" you will have to go the 'PC" route,where you can race titles like 'IRacing" and "RFactor",that are genuine 'SIMS",simply put there are NO Real "Sims" on ANY "Console"..even titles like "GT5" and "FORZA 4" are more on the "ARCADE" side of the fence ..you can yell & scream all you want,but it is the honest truth,and this is coming from a die Hard "GT5" fan & a guy who loves Console racing,I love racing period,whether it is on "PC" and a 100 percent pure "SIM" like 'IRacing" or a total 'ARCADE" racer like "GRID"..But you need to have decent "Physics" and thats where "SHIFT 2" Fails miserably,I totally enjoyed the first "SHIFT" [even with it's sketchy physics] and was REALLY looking forward to "SHIFT 2" where the developers claimed to have fixed all the sketchy floaty physics ..simply put ,they LIED! and what "SHIFT 2" ended up being was a Beautiful Looking MESS of a racer..some of the lower end cars drive fine..but when you step up to the higher end stuff,thats when things go from bad to worse,and they are for the most part Garbage, just to let you know I have been racing "PC" & Console for over 10 years,and own top end "SIM" racing gear and wheel & pedal sets,so I am not a rookie @ this, what really is just too bad is that "SHIFT 2" COULD have been epic,and on "PC" with "Modding" it is not a bad title at all,but on Console? it sucks!

Very Good Racing Game, But...
The game is great... It's actually one of the best I have played, the problem comes in with difficulty... Even having the game on Easy, it's still pretty hard sometimes to grab a win. Been several times that I had no choice but to settle for 2nd or 3rd.. It's also probably one of the most ("Skill Required") games i have played. Taking corners in this game is not as easy as it would seem. You really have to work that throttle & brake in order to stay on the road. Also, if you upgrade your car, all the cars you will be racing will have the SAME UPGRADES! So keep that in mind when your going to go splurge all that cash. Other than that, this is a great racing game. The helmet cam makes it look as if your in the helmet, like YOUR THE DRIVER! couple that with the ability to completely remove the HUD (Heads Up Display) & you have yourself a VERY realistic driving experience... Only way to make it more realistic would be to actually go driving. Just don't go out driving like that, leave that to the Pros...

Fun and Intense
I think Shift 2 is a great sim/arcade racer. Each race feels more intense than the last and the AI actually give you a challange. The graphics look great from the interiors and exteriors of the cars to the debris blowing across the track. I think this game has one of the best feeling drift modes as well. The cars in this game also sound great. There is also tons of tracks and the career mode is pretty lengthy. If you pick up this game grab a $20 dollar psn card and buy the "Legends" and "Speedhunters" dlc packs. Between them both you get about 20 cars or so, 5 tracks, 1/4 mile and Standing mile drag. I highly recommend at least trying this game out its very fun and will have you on the edge of your seat.

Probably the best racing game for ps3 right now
It has great graphics and car selection. customization is detailed and realistic. Its cheap and definately worth it. it has a nice online mode that is detailed and fun. it's the best racing game for the ps3 handsdown.

Don't Listen to Bad Reviews!
First off, NFS:SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED is not for the faint of heart. From square one the Career Gameplay is supercharged madness and a near wreck at every corner. The graphics and sound are second only to GT5.Don't waste your time playing with a Steering Wheel the controls are just not to par. I would say Carbon and Hot Pursuit are easier games than this title with the same repetitive cars and storyline. If you are a beginner go back to Mario Kart as this title has taken realism to a new level. This title is a must buy for any PS3 user for $20

BEST RACING GAME!!!
This game is probably the best out of all Need For Speeds. There so much better cars and the handling/tuning to the cars seems so realistic! Honestly an amazing car game.

I think that they try to make the game so realistic that is hard to drive and the story mode is so bad i would like to return the game i got... but i cant because its open

Not what i expected
Man, i had high hopes for this game. the gameplay seriously let me down, i was expecting like gran trismo kinda handling. not even close, you'd have better traction driving on a frozen lake. cars are good though, graphics are amazing, the computers aren't as agressive as they promoted. if you really want a racing game this would be good, but for someone who just got a ps3, don't buy it.
