Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13: The Masters Collector's Edition
Tiger Woods 13 Collector's Edition
This Tiger Woods golf game is great to have in your collection of golf games for the PS3. You can practice at the Augusta Nationall Practice Facility on it & you can also play at the par 3 course as well.
Solid Upgrade... from Links 2004
I admited up front that I haven't bought a golf game since links 2004 on the xbox, but when I saw some of the gameplay I hoped that it would finally be what I was looking for in terms of gameplay mechanics. Most of the graphics are a huge upgrade, but the fairway and the green still look pretty bad, just a flat grass image. Surprising since they could have made the greens look a lot better since they're practically flat in real life but it's not too big a deal. Also, the music in the menu seems to scratch and pop at times like there's interference. I haven't had any such problem with my other games so I'm pretty sure it's just this game. But the in game sounds are great.. It's a lot of fun watching the ball fly straight off the tee, and that authentic sinking feeling when you slice... FOUR!
Better than '12
Tiger Woods Master's 13 is better than '12 imo.. The graphics are clean, and sound is great. Crowds get more hyped than last year. The swing system is better.. no more choking up grip. You can make a golf club and create a club to help you make more coins. Multiplayer is great and fun to play. Collectors edition is the way to go to have more courses to play BUT some you need to unlock by earning coins and playing rounds and unlocking goals. There isn't a big roster of Golfers like last year but making a player is the way to go imo... great game !
Better every year but still has online bugs
Best golf simulator ever. With that said there are some problems -
TigerWoods 13 has eliminated the ability to store local or online videos of your best shots. This has been a well established feature for years. This means you can no longer review and compete against the best shots and games of other players. Some online daily games say they allow 2 entries. If you play one round you will be allowed to play a second round but the website will reject your score when you go to sign the scorecard, saying that you have "Exceeded your maximum entries for this game". The online game also completely freezes on a PS/3 when attempting to play some courses. Some of the flyovers are buggy. These easily fixed bugs are a disappointment on a title that has been around for so many years.
Club tuning is no longer available. This was a major feature in 12. In previous editions you could limit PGA tour play to 1 round per tournament. Now you are forced to play through (or simulate and lose) 4 rounds to finish a tournament. Unless you are ready to dedicate the rest of your life to finishing version 13 you will never get all of the sponsorships. This seems like a design decision to get everyone to spend more money to buy "bonus packs". A $69 game should not have to nickel and dime its customers for a decent game experience. That is why I rated this game for hardcore gamers only.
this game is one of the better games i have played from EA lately. the courses are awesome and there is just enough challenge to make the game great and you can really get into it. there is really only one thing i wish there were more of, that being golfers, there arent many to choose from and where is Mickelson? why isnt he in the game?
Best Tiger Woods Yet
I've played a couple of Tiger Woods games (i.e. '10, '11, and '12), but the quality has not compared to this version. First off, the graphics are SO much better than the others. The sound is also great. The applause and cheers of the crowd are improved greatly. Also, the gameplay is improved highly from the others. It makes it much more realistic. You have complete control of the shot. The caddie mode is great. The only thing I disapprove of is the whole coin system. To get other courses that are extremely awesome, you either have to play for days on end to earn enough coins to play unlimited rounds, or pay a lot of money (for all of the courses). Other than that, this game is nearly perfect. (By the way, the Tiger Legacy Challenge is fantastic).
Courses included on the collectors edition are...
Augusta National, Augusta National Par 3, Bethpage, Celtic Manor - The 2010 Course, NEW!! Crooked Stick Golf Course, East Lake Golf Club, NEW!! The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, Oakmont, Pebble Beach Golf Links, NEW!! PGA National Course Collector's edition exclusive, Pinehurst Resort (No. 2 Course), NEW!! Royal Birkdale, NEW!! Royal County Down, Royal Melbourne, St. Andrews, Straits Course at Whistling Straits, The Els Club, TPC at Sawgrass, TPC at Scottsdale, Torrey Pines, The Old White TPC (formerly Greenbrier) &
going downhill along with tigers career
for starters, paying $70.00 for the game along with another $50.00-$60.00 for the rest of the courses is a rip-off. Getting to 100% on all attributes is just so time consuming, but it allows for product placement so EA don't really care if you make it to 100%. But the worst thing about tiger woods 12 is the putting. It is absolutely horrendous, the ball just moves in whatever direction it feels like, especially on the short putts. I will not be buying another tiger woods game and will try to find something better.
If you thought Tiger Woods 12 providing the Master's tournament at Augusta was a miracle, then this has to be a miracle times 3. Now we get to have a Master's Green Jacket Ceremony, a rendition of thier practice facility, new online experience, new swing mechanics, voice activation and kinect integration on Xbox 360 and a career mode sure to challenge the best career mode made which was in Tiger Woods 12!
a free download of TPC Blue Monster is awesome. Can't wait to see perfection become absolute with Tiger Woods 13!!!
