Virtua Fighter 5 - Used
this game is a must try fighting game, all you fighting or karate, or wrestling fans, you must get this
Correction to my last review
Okay, so when I first picked this up I was really upset but it was my fault because I am more used to Tekken's style so the gameplay upset me and overall I RAGED and gave it a bad review. Now Im here to make up for that.
Virtua Fighter 5, now this is actually a GOOD fighting game, I cant say its bad. I configured my controls to what was more comfortable for me (I used a controller instead of Fightpad or Fightstick) and I gave it another go. I was satisfied indeed, the game plays very well and it gives you a more realistic feel. I play as Jacky Bryant, which is my favorite and easy to use character. The game feels great, balanced, and fast. It looks better than its previous installment, and for it to have been an early title it is very gorgeous with great looking arenas, stunning visuals just pop out. Though there is no online muliplayer you can play against a local friend and fight in a tournament mode where you fight CPU of all different levels, which actually has a lasting appeal.
Virtua Fighter 5 is very, very cheap... it deserves a higher price but if you are looking for something quick to play that is actually fun pay the 5 bucks for the game it wont disappoint. I think its just a way for the game industry to let Sega fall since Sonic is slowing failing as a mascot. But Virtua Fighter, BUY IT!
This game was just terrible
This game was just terrible. The gameplay was difficult and trying to get combos was absolutely horrible. I would not recommend this game to anyone, EVER!
the 1st and still best 3d fighter
Sorry to all the tekken fan boys out there who decided to bash this game. 1st this was the original 3d fighter. I do like tekken but it is no where near the fighting game this is. VF has always offered superior graphics, the characters are all modeled well and don't look like sloppy cologes pasted together like the tekken characters. VF character movents are fluid very life like its like controlling a real life martial arts master. Tekkens characters are robot like and slow so the controls of many of those characters is clumsy at times its missing fluidity VF has. Vf has depth in the controls you can puul off simple combos to complex combos that flow like a Katz from true martial artist. Tekken system is not so deep some combos that don't flow very well. If you listen to the VF bashers on this page who coincidently reccomend tekken than you'll be robbing yourself. I own tekken and my copy of VF see a lot more play. True Vf don't have a huge roster but do you want quality with VF or quantity of tekken it has a lot of characters that feel the same. As of writing this VF 5 Final Showdown is out and once again SEGA smashed the competition.
Worst fighting game ever.
Reasons Why: not much content, no unlockable characters, no online multiplayer, and the health goes down too fast! its to easy to get KOd, this fighting game sucks, play tekken and soul calibur its better than this!
not to good and not to bad
its a great game and its fun to play with more than 1 player but i dont like it that much
How can VF2 and 4 be Better than 5?
I first played vf2 on the PC and after that i had always respected the VF series then a couple weeks ago i bought 4and 5, 4 is tough but it's manageable with practice but Virtua Fighter 5 is ridiculous! you would have to a super computer attached to the back of your head to keep up with the CPU moves, arcade starts out easy but gets harder and harder with each battle you win, and by the time you get to the final stage the average player might have to retry 15-22 times depending on your skill level. the quest mode is just another version of arcade.
*This game has nice graphics don't let that fool you
*It has a Character Customization mode, but you'll probably lose so much that you won't earn in money to buy anything.
I believe this game is designed to take peoples money, whether it's in quarters at the arcade or from a swipe from your credit card at the checkout.
*The Bottom Line is: YOU MUST KNOW HOW TO PLAY BEFORE YOU PLAY!
I remeber playing the first one as a kid so i picked this one up. I figured that for only 7 dollars this game would probably be worth the purchase. It wasnt. The characters are interesting but bland. The fighting wasnt that fun. You also have to use the d-pad which i really hated. I bought this 2 days ago and it will probably sit and collect dust.
Great game for anyone with 3 thumbs.
At first glance the game looked like a great buy, fun modes to play, unique characters, and arenas. But if you really want to get the most out of it you need to learn awkward controls, huge chain combinations to pull off a 3 or 4 hit combo, no juggling feature, a virtually useless training mode, and a small rooster of characters. but if you're ok with hitting 3 of the four buttons and the correct movement for a reversal, or small jab combos, im sure you'll adore this game. as for me? why bother when i can play mortal kombat without ripping my hair out trying to figure out how to change the controls? lol
Great Fighter, but Bad Overall
When I was checking out Virtua Fighter 5 of how it would offer, it seem nice. But once I got it from a "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" Sale and got VF5 for Free. I can say, it was worth it in it's own Time way back, and not the Current Time of now as it is overshadow by other Fighters now. "Arcade" is nice but goes way "Arcade" with Stage A/B instead of Random Fights with Difficult rearranging Easy/Hard and not simply Normal. The other Mode makes it seem like a Arcade Experience and an Interesting one as well. The Roster is low having the VF Series include few New Chars each Game. Graphics are Superb as well as Gameplay. Others, "Costumes" are good but Money goes off-balance of it's Earnings taking some time. All in all, I made a Trade with my Friend and got in return "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune". Both 2007 Games and by both Prices, it seems like I saved money from Uncharted, not a Game I was intending to get, but enjoyed it. By Standards, for Virtua Fighter Fans and Hardcore Arcade Fighter Fans.
