This is NOT Dead to Rights
I picked this up because i was a huge fan of the first DTR and thought having DTR on the go would be awesome well i was wrong, this is nothing like the console games. The only thing they have slightly in common is the shooting mechanics and there not even that great in this version. The first game had a mix of gameplay from stealth to puzzles max payne like shooting and you even got to run around as the dog in the first game but this one just has mindless shooting. You go from one small area to the next just shooting waves of enemies theres no thinking involved you just run & gun, a far cry from the other games in the series. Even as a mindless shooter this game fails because of the camera and bad lock on mechanics. The target switch button is the up button so you cant run and swith at the same time and you can only switch targets in one direction, this becomes a problem when your locked on to the middle enemy and want to get the one at the far left or right. The camera has no idea what it wants to do and theres no manual control for it or at least i couldnt find one, its so disorientating you wind up either losing the enemies locations or your own. This could've been fixed with a camera control button or using the shoulder buttons to pan. The only thing this game has going for it are the graphics, when the game came out they would've been considered good. If your looking for a mindless run & gun then this is the game for you as long as you can deal with the bad controls but if your looking for Dead To Rights or just a more engaging game then stay away. Very disappointed with this game, if i wanted to play a mindless run & gun id go play a dual stick shooter or Modern Warfare.

Awesome Shooter
This game is one of the best shooters i have played. There is a variety of guns, Pistols, Shotguns, and automatics. And they are all awesome guns. I would recommend this game to anyone that likes shooters.

A fun, high-octane run-and-gun game.
Sometimes, it's nice to take a break from the "stealth." What I mean by that is that I'm a huge fan of the sneaking genre (i.e. Splinter Cell, Metal Gear Solid) and I didn't know what to expect, seeing as I was new to the DTR series. Luckily, my expectations were exceeded quite greatly. I would first like to point out the drawbacks, the storyline could use some major work (How can four seperate gangs be tied to one hostage), it was just plain confusing. The lack of voice acting was also disappointing, but not a major drawback, since the primary focus is on the action. Some of the variety in the game could also use some fine tuning (i.e. The character models are repeated tremendously). Anyway, the game runs exceptionally smooth and the load times are minute, especially when compared to other PSP titles. There is a nice selection of weapons and the option of dual-wielding is a plus. One of the things that really makes this game unique is the disarming system and the ability to sic your dog (Shadow) on just about everything that ticks you off. Overall, I would highly recommend DTR:R to anybody who is on the lookout for a fun, action-packed title.
