Overall this is really good!
This game has a clever way of doing recipes, like if you make a mistake Mama tries to help you out instead of not getting second chances. The controls are really good but when I do some of the moves over and over with the Wii remote it doesn't catch it. The multiplayer mode is really fun including hot potato and trying to beat records in a cook off. Overall this game is really great.

Mama has done it again!
What is it about this game that has had me spend my weekend hours playing this game all night just trying to master the recipes. Mama has had me since day one that I picked it up on the DS. I finally decided maybe it would be better on the Wii. I was wrong. The controls are the worst in the game. I thought at times my arm was going to fall off, or my Wii controller was going to fly off and cause an accident. You expect a child to know how to skin the shrimp by shaking the remote to the right in the enough time that she gives you. Oh no. I couldn't understand the motions till the third day of playing. There is so many questions on why this game seemed never tested. When you spin the controller in a circle the game seems to do what ever it feels like. I am really getting tired of seeing mama's face lighting up with flames. Why does mama have her youngest children doing child labor in all the games released on the DS and Wii. Is she so lazy that she needs children cutting into meat with cleavers and butcher knives really fast. I don't see this ending real well if this game was rated M. Mama would be brought up on charges.

Really dissapointed
When i bought the game, i thought it would be more challenging, more realistic movement, and more fun. It was hard to move the characters with the controller; they tend to drop everything or go the wrong direction. Basically, all you do in the game is cook maybe 30 meals, 'cooking mama' grades you, and you try and cook for friends. that's it. i was really disappointed. There was no point really to continue playing. I felt like i had to force myself to keep playing. it was that bad. i think that even little kids would get bored with it quickly. if you bought this game, i feel bad for you and anyone else who had to play. And the website i got it from wouldn't let me return it. I will never buy another 'cooking mama' game again. i'd give it a 1/10. and that's being generous.

Mama's got a brand new bag
For old "Mama" fans from the DS version and previous wii "Cook-Off" version, this will probably be a bit of a disappointment with the new graphics and such. No more presents, only "New Recipe"s such as Ratatouille and Potato Balls that are supposedly multi-cultural compared to the "normal" cooking fare found in Mama (minus the Nestle Tollhouse product placement). Still absolutely addicting, along with the hilarity that ensues because of the absurd gesticulations that go along with playing this game, and the best new feature are the amazingly weird cut scene/mini-games, definitely make this game a worthwhile play for both young and old players who like to cook imaginary food. The new 3D aspects of cooking mama kind of freak me out still, especially how when things are loading Mama gets a shimmering wreath of colorful strobes around her. Also, when she's in the kitchen with other characters it looks pretty mental. I'm not used to seeing the characters of Cooking Mama snooping around while I'm trying to grill shish-kebabs! Since the backgrounds are all in 3D it's harder to focus just on the pot or the radish or whatever since it doesn't really zoom in, it keeps the kitchen and the cooking area itself in seeing range and is kind of distracting at first. One of the hilarious new features is when you make a mistake, like accidentally miss catching toast that has somehow jettisoned from your toaster faster than the speed of light, Mama will get these pixellated flames in her eyes and you have to flap her little arms in order to catch the toast mid-air before her pet dog eats it! Each time the little cut-scenes come it is unexpected, because only certain actions have the sort of "rescue the food!" option, and other times you make a mistake and it just says "Finished" with spoiled vegetables dropping down onto the screen and you wish you could fixed your meal, but you can't. Another interesting part about this game is that there never really appears to be a rating in between "Well Done" and "Mama Will Fix This". So you think when you steamed the potatoes and dropped half of them on the floor you'll get penalized, and then it says "Well Done!" So you get your hopes up, and then your end score is a 62. With this game some times it is really easy, and then other times you think to yourself, "HOW IS THIS COOKING?!" and chuck your wiimote at the fake burned stir fry you've just concocted. To make the unavoidable food-related pun everyone has been waiting for, Mama's still cookin', and I recommend this game to the youngsters and also the ol' diehard Mama fans (just because her voice is still the best thing since sliced bread, in my opinion). So go out and smell whatever's cookin' (or at least pretend to smell, since it doesn't really exist anyway).

OMGSH!
A new Cooking Mama? This series is quickly becoming the best game on the Wii and I hope this one is the best out of all of them. They just keep getting better and better for all of the systems and this one won't be any different. It will be amazing and I can't wait for it!!
