Surprisingly fun
We went to the game store to buy a gift for a 7 year old's b'day. I knew he had a wii. My daughter saw the dogs on the front, and wanted it. I figured that because it had football in it, the boy would like it. It's actually a lot of fun to watch the kids play. They get really into it and want to score. It does seem to take a while to figure out all the tricks. It's not tradtional football, but it's a lot like traditional football. It's football with a lot of goofy stuff going on. It's a great way to play with the kids and it's family friendly. Its a fun way to play simplified football. For the price, it makes a good gift.

Really?
The game was horribly laggy, with constant framerate drops. The controls were confusing, and limiting you to only the Wiimote was a horrible descion. Each quarter only lasts a minute, and your only motivation is to unlock the robot dog. My family was regretting this purchase and we wonder what the other "reviewers" (AKA. developers) were talking about.

Laughing My Way Towards Fun
I'll admit that I didn't have a positive view of this game at first glance. After growing up playing college football on Sega Genesis ever since '93, and Madden starting on PC platforms back to the late 80's, I thought the idea of dogs and a retired NFL legend was a bit...well...silly. However, with the Wii version Madden NFL '12 looking like something I would expect on the original Playstation (ie not worth my time/money), I dug a little bit deeper in my quest for a Wii football game and decided to give this game a whirl. I can honestly say that I have NEVER had this much fun, or laughed this hard in all the years I had played NCAA or Madden. EVER. This game is an absolute riot, and I'm a bit ashamed of my initial reaction. I grew up with dogs my whole life and have 2 labs of my own right now, and admittedly slowly lost interest in the NCAA and Madden series because of their increasing focus on reality vice fun. I think that's why this game was an instant hit with me, it's originality and spin on football puts it in a league of its own. The game play reminds me of the original Tecmo Bowl in a way, from it's simplistic play calling, to using quick jukes to fool oncoming tacklers, with a little bit of Mutant League Football tossed in.
Anywho, I recommend this game to anyone that doesn't take gaming too seriously, from kids, to kids at heart. It's definitely worth the money and then some.

Something different everywhere you look
This game has a lot more going on than a typical wii game. It reminds me of watching cartoons...they are mostly for the kids, but parents can enjoy it at a whole different level. This game is great for our kids who are pretty young (4-6) but it is equally fun for mom and dad, because you can make it as difficult as you want. My daughter spends most of her time just playing with the dogs and dressing them. My son wants to play the game. I have a lot of fun playing this with him. This is a great, appropriate, interactive game for the whole family. I think it will also develop a cult following with people who want to play a casual competitive game with lots of points opportunities, while socializing.

Can't wait to unlock Jerry.
My kids are playing this game and looks like they'll have a little while before they play as Jerry Rice. I haven't seen any characters named Holly yet, as a previous reviewer mentioned, so I guess more gaming to keep them occupied, after homework is done, of course. Some of the repetitive music grates on my nerves, but as a Mom, it's bound it happen. The graphics after the team makes a goal are cute and I believe they were using a rubber chicken as a football. I haven't picked it up myself and likely will not but the kids have a good time.

New favorite party game
Bought this game for my two boys 3 and 5. The 5 year old can play it but the 3 year old needs some practice. Most surprising however was their grandparents could play it. Its remarkabley easy to play and still fun. It delivers the best part of gaming, FUN, without the frustration I have felt with most overly complicated games(maybe I'm too old). It's a great family game that doubles as a great party/drinking game. You can skim board in the beach field and there was a raccoon that scared my dog so bad he fumbled. The game is somewhere between silly and ludacris but it works. My wife(who can hardly compose an email without help) can play it! It allows players to enter and exit the game during play(without having to restart game), Earn bonus point that are added to TD allowing for some major comebacks. If you want a game that gets everyone involved, but with no commitment, this is it.

great family game
This is not a game for the hardcore gamers. However, it is a lot of fun for family Wii night. My kids love the game already, as Jerry has already replaced Mario as their video game hero. It is an excellent introduction to football for kids, allowing them to enjoy without the football complexities of Madden. It truly combines my kids' love of animals with their love of sports in a fun and family appropriate way.

This is a great game for all ages.
I bought this game because my kids wanted a new game to play with friends. They love dogs, and I love Jerry Rice...so it was perfect!!! I recommend doing the "dog training" prior to playing. From there, it was hours of entertainment. I just enjoyed having a good family game that can also provide hours of serious competition.

Great Game
This game has great content that is enjoyable for the entire family. Don't let the title fool you, this is much more than your typical football game. I bought it last week and set it up at my 8 year old niece's birthday party and all of her friends loved it. They loved the characters (especially Holly) and all the dogs. They loved that they could customize the dogs and the best part about it was that it made it easy for the chaperones because everyone was so preoccupied with the game. I actually had about 10 games out for them to choose from, but they all kept picking this game. I hope they come out with a series of games like this. Totally awesome!!!

Great for kids who love dogs and football
Got this yesterday. My daughter loves it because of the dogs and the game play. Many ways to have fun with this game, between the comical characters, the dog breeds and wonderful football field landscapes. Fun for the whole family --- dog lovers and football fans.
Also, great to hear Jerry Rice's voice again. Need get throught the season to "unlock" his team.
