On my top 10 for Wii
Rogue Trooper is an action game, with a fair amount of violence that combines tactics, resource management, and combat.
Pros: upgradeable weapons, great story, cool design.
Cons: the grenade, OMG like many action shooters you can aim and throw or just throw using the nunchuck. It's pretty kludgy control system. No multiplayer, if this game had had a co-op survival mode aka horde mode it would be a 13/10.
As listed in the title this is on my must have list for the Wii and as the Wii is retiring you can pick it up for a steal.

Rogue, You've succeeded!
Ok, first off let me explain the premise of this game. Your character, Rogue, is a genetically altered human made for fighting. He is a souther, being that he is from the south of Nu Earth. His friends, Bagman, Helm, and Gunnar, are fallen comrades that, after death, have had their bio-chips taken out and Rogue has implanted them in is bag, helmet, and gun respectively. Their enemies, The Norts, are trying to destroy are the southers. It's Rogue's job to infiltrate the Norts and rid them from Nu Earth once and for all. There is a large selection of guns to use in this game and new ones are added after you upgrade using salvage. Salvage is items and money taken from fallen enemies. The graphics in this game are pretty good and clear. One downfall of this game is lasting appeal. After you beat the game, there is little interest playing again. Also, the two player mode is not part of the storyline game. It's a separate feature that doesn't accomplish anything. Don't get me wrong, i absolutely love this game and is one of the best for the Wii. As said in other reviews, when you are running, sometimes you get too close to an object and automatically crouch behind it. Sniping is both fun and easy. The game is pretty difficult at times but makes you think about what your next plan of attack is gonna be. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys Wii shooters!

Love this game
Ok, so I love this game. Shooters are about all I play, and I get tired of spending good money for poor or boring shooters (I could name many). Picked this up used primarily because it was cheap. The storyline hooked me from the start. Once past the first level and the somewhat annoying but admittedly helpful instructional pause modes (here's how you shoot behind cover, now press A to continue), this is one fun shooter. The weapons are accurate and powerful, some take a little getting used to. The bio-chip identities are a great plus. The action is interesting (there's just something about jumping on the back of a heavily armored enemy and shooting down the opening for his head to protrude out of) and often takes you by surprise. Enemy soldiers are somewhat "intelligent" and not entirely cannon fodder. There is no challenge in taking out a tank (just aim the big mortar and fire), but most targets can be very challenging, especially the train ride across the desert. And finding the snipers can be very difficult in places. Each level/battle arena is different and more challenging than the last, culminating in the final battle where just about everything you've faced so far comes at you. My only complaint is with the movement control sometimes. I try to run forward, only to come up against an object that I immediately crouch behind. Not good when you're trying to avoid a grenade. And I have been known to tumble off the edge of Nu Earth when all I wanted to do was pick up some salvage. Oops. <grin> All in all, this is a great game well worth the price. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys first person shooters.

Great game for the Wii
I love 3rd person shooting games and they are hard to come by on the Wii...good ones anyway.Other reviewers say this game surprised them...well it surprised me as well. This is a must have for the Wii as there are so few good 3rd person shooters. RE 4 is still my favorite for the Wii but it's nice to play something new. The graphics are good for the Wii but nothing spectacular. The controls are very good, the aiming is dead on. Although, I'm having trouble with throwing grenades where I want them. Whenever I try and aim where I want it to land My screen spins uncontrollably. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or not? Also, I am unable to throw grenades where I want them when crouched behind a defensive barrier of any sort. Again, I don't know if it's just me or if others are having the same problem? The storyline is good.I like the biochips talking and helping out with strategies. The sound is good.I haven't really played too much online but plan to play more after I complete the game and I hope there are many playing this game online as well. One last thing...When I first started playing I wasn't that into it. But I kept playing and as you upgrade your weapons and have better control and options with your character the game becomes more and more addicting. Also, the first mission is kind of boring but they definetely get better as the missions roll on. So, make sure you play through the first mission (minimum) before deciding what you think. This is a game I will be playing for awhile and hopefully many others so the online play will be fun for all of us as well.I hope this was helpful.

great game but has some problems
i got this game for x-mas and i've been playing it ever since. i've gotten through the first 4 or 5 levels and it's been a pretty nice play. i'm going to give you some good things and bad things about this game: (good) the challenge is pretty good the controls are pretty well the graphics are wicked and it's nice enough to recommend the other peeps (bad) the only complaints are the sound, the responsiveness, and the interface. this might just be my wii but the responsiveness is terrible. unless you can control it like i can, again this might just be my system, you'll basically be spinning around the whole game. my dad and i were playing the game in multiplayer and the first thing that happend was his man started spinning. he couldn't control it till i finally helped him, but he didn't want to play at that point cause he claimed it was making him nauseous. also when i play this game on my wii that is hooked up to my hd tv i have to turn the volume down to a seven to get what i know as a normal 12 or 13. one last thing, the interface has just about the same problem as the responsiveness. at last, i'm pretty sure i'm going to give this game an over all 8.0 there's my review, hope it helps you .

Rogue Trooper
This game is much better that I would have ever thought from a Wii shooter game. You will have fun playing it and the price was great. I could talk about the water in this game for hours. You are walking along doing your killin thing when bammmm, You come across a large body of water that looks like you could just jump right thru your T.V. and swim in it. I never thought that the Wii could handle these types of graphics but there it was right infront of me. Ok, I guess I have gone on aabout the water enough but I was just very happy with it and most of the other parts of the game. The game just looks like it was made with a much larger budget than I know it had. I have been able to play thru several levels so far without any glitches and I am very happy with the overall production value of the game... I think that Graffiti Entertainment did a great job making this game and I hope they make more of the same.

Better than I had thought
I've got to admit that this is one of our favorite Wii games. I bought it because I like shooter style games and for the Wii there are only so many to great ones to choose from. I had never heard of "Rogue Trooper" before and didn't know that the character had been around for years prior to this game, but I bought it because the price was fair and am glad that I did. Playing the game without knowing anything about the history is easy. The AI are great, controls are quick to learn (although there were some motions that took some getting used to for the different gun adjustments) and it is probably one of the most accurate shooter game for the Wii that I've played yet (compared to D-day, CoD, Splinter Cell, & others) . I've only been playing the normal difficulty level, but once I beat the game I already am looking forward to beating it a second time on the harder level. The graphics are great, although not really what you would find on other systems, but for the Wii I think that this game is awesome and character motions are fluid. All and all, this is a game that every Wii owner should try.
