Unmatched
Backbreaker is the best football game to ever be released by far. I used to think 2K football games were the best until I played Backbreaker. The graphics are breathtaking and the tackles extremely realistic. The only true downfall is the lack of NFL teams and the poor announcing during the game. These mistakes are made up for by the amazing team creating options. The creation options are so good that if you wanted to, you could create the 32 NFL teams. But, thanks to the internet, somebody has already done that for you!

Terrible
The controls are impossible. If you like madden and NCAA don't get this game. The graphics were ok but I would only get this game if u have patience.

Mostly Good, just one bad review.
Great for anyone that thinks football is a challenge. I believe some great features are the custom teams, arenas, morpheme and endorphin phyisics and the close up action. One feature that are possible to a thumbs down review is the passing action. Why? If you go onto youtube, it looks confusing who the QB is passing to. Other than that, the graphics are great and some videos show how much work NaturalMotions put into this. I would buy any other sports games by NaturalMotions with Morpheme/Endorphin phyisics

The way football should be done.
Backbreaker is an awesome game. It is nice to see a different take on football than what EA Sports puts out annually. Yes, there has been some other football games out there like Blitz and the what not, with even some being decent. These titles just didn't convince me like Backbreaker did. First, the graphics and the sound are great. The gameplay is what got my attention. The controls are not really difficult to get down, yet presents a challenge. Same goes with the camera angles on this game. I have heard and read some have problems with the camera angles. It doesn't bother me. I think it is really cool. It makes playing defense fun again and passing plays more challenging. Now in saying all of that, I do feel there are a couple of minor flaws in this game. First being bogus penalties sometimes. I'll get called for pass interference on a sack sometimes. Not saying that it's impossible. I'm just saying it is highly unlikely when I get the sack in what seems like a split-second. My other deal with this game is that receivers drop a lot more passes than I would figure. But then again that might just be the difficulty I am playing on or maybe the designers of this game intended to put a little more spotlight on defense. Anyway, they are only minor. My biggest challenge is pass defense. I love blitzing, rarely ever being a play that I do not blitz. I figured that if I keep a constant rush on the offense, that would equate to being as good as great pass coverage. But I have been burned quite a bit because of that thought process. I still haven't allowed a touchdown. Just field goals. But I have given up a lot of pass yards to the opposition. I have been trying to play pass coverage, using Man and Zone style defenses with cornerbacks and safeties instead of the usual linebacker I tend to stick with. It has actually been really fun. Backbreaker doesn't use real football teams, at least not any that I am aware of. But that doesn't take anything away in my opinion. In fact, I look at it as a good thing in that it is something different. It features a season/career mode. I haven't completed it as of yet, but I am enjoying it so far. Backbreaker features a mode called Tackle Alley. That is really fun. It is like a football equivalent to the Horde mode features in the Gears of War series. Overall, this game is the total package. I don't see why it is not more popular than it already is. I would definitely recommend Backbreaker to anyone that is interested in football. Happy gaming.

good
this is a very good game. but it still needs more. the running needs to be a little bit easier. the passing needs to be a little bit harder. the defense is good but its impossible to tackle the rb in the backfield......... all in all the game is good but just needs a little bit of help.
