Dragon Age Origins: Awakening
More Grey Warden bang for your buck
Game glitches aside, this was the best expansion pack I ever invested in. Bringing your Warden saved from origins. You wont be disappointed! (I put my shield away and it vanished-then reappeared backwards, then I walked around vigils keep like C-3PO) I fixed that by disarming, then rearming my character. Its a great 11 hour add on to the origins story.
Better Than I Expected
I enjoyed this expansion about as much as I enjoyed DA:O. Again, you become completely immersed with the story and characters which is such a treat. Sometimes, though, you forget you are playing an expansion since the game play is longer than a typical expansion pack. There was only a couple of MINOR things that I found disappointing, but it didn't ruin my fun of game play. There seemed to be a lot of bugs (glitches, not darkspawn) with the graphics, especially towards the end. And it was REALLY easy. I liked how challenging DA:O was, and I didn't feel as challenged during fights or quests here. I recommend playing this game on a level harder than you're accustomed to. All in all, I was very happy with the game. I loved the new characters that the game offered and there are many quests that take the adventurer through Vigil's Keep and Amaranthine. I completed the game in about 10 1/2 hours, which is excellent for an expansion pack. I highly recommend those that have played DA:O to play Awakening, and get lost in the land of Fereldon again!
this game is the best game i have ever played
this game is the best this is fun and did had some hard part in it but it was a great game
i thought that the game lasted a long time for it being an add on but they could of put more armor/weapons in it.
This game is one of the best RPGs that I have ever played. Instead of telling you what is great (b/c I think that the game only has 1 flaw...) I'll tell you what I don't like: In the age of open world and sandbox games, Dragon Age is a step behind. The areas that you do go to are massive an complex, but I found myself missing the open world-ness of games like Oblivion and Red Dead Redemption. In the same vein, the levels are quite linear and give you mostly 1 path to follow to reach your objective. Other than this, I give the game a 10- it is quite simply one of the most fun and most engrossing RPG/adventure game that I have ever played!
Impressive to Say the Least.
This is a very great expansion. Notice how I said expansion. The gameplay is just as fun if not funner than the original Dragon Age: Origins. There are plenty of new weapons and armour that make you want to go on a little dungeon delving. The storyline was short but very thorough with many revelations on the Darkspawn and Amaranthine in general. The thing that does make me somewhat sad is that the characters didn't seem to have as much charm and funny moments as in Origins(except Oghren who was even goofier than before). You do start at a high level which takes out many hours of training but many characters have their own powerful items to be gained without it. The overall game took me around 7 hours to complete with very little side quests. The side quests add a lot more game time and facts about Thedas. All in all it is a good expansion with a litlle bit bigger price than I expected.
Awesome but really short
I found this game really fun and since i played the main game i decided to give the expansion a run. It is pretty fun with all the new characters. The new weapons are cool and strong sometimes and the new skills are awesome. The only problem I had with this was that it is very short i got this expansion the day it came out and even though it says it has around 15 hours of game play if you run through it and only do the main quests it takes only 8 hours give or take. You do get to see a few of your teammates depending on your choices in the original but there is no love plots in this one sadly..... Other than it being somewhat short I loved this expansion it is a definite buy if u played the first one and you learn some stuff about the last blight. But anyways in my books it was a good game; so if u played the original you should get it.
Great but slightly dissapointed
It is a fantastic game and if you liked the first one the fact you can import your hero from the original is awesome. I also like that there are a bevy of new charicters to get to know and few cameo appearences from the old ones, it also allows you to start a new with a foreign gray warden with a whole new chance to make a memorable hero several months after the arch demon was slain by your hero.I however after orgins fell in love with the charicters and my party especially Morrigan who I was dissapointed not to have a chance to reconnect with her or her come to her senses as in the end as she obviously fell in love with you (at least in my game, grant it you can fall in love with any of the charicters, but I liked Morrigan). I am not sure if this will be added in the 2011 release of the second full game or in another expansion, but I feel that the relationship that bonded the two together was very loving in careing all be it and a weird sort of way. In my opinion Dragon Age is a mesh between the best of Final Fantasy and Fable combined with a more playable lord of the rings type world that is fitting with a DnD setting. For a game to be able to give you a party you can interact and come to know as friends and actually have feelings for what happens to them in the end is amazing work done by the game creators. I mean you feel why the elfs hate the humans and understand why with how they were treated in the first game (especially if you were a city elf). The expansion enhances on the constant political struggles, race struggles, and of course the batte to chase off the remaining dark spawn with several brood mothers still around. Great bosses and a whole new chellengeing task hangs before you in the ever changeing world of turmoil that we all love.
Must say DAO was a great game. The fact that you were able to create your own individual character was great. But for me there were way to many glitches and little bugs. For me i had to play through the game 3 times before i finally got the game right. The first time in the Broken Circle after i killed the main boss it glitched on me and wouldnt let me pick either parties. So i was stuck in the mainstory line and couldnt progress. And also the other romance miniquests were very annoying for me. Every game i could get Morrigan no problem. But when it came to Liliana and Zevran they were 100% but i couldnt move on. I am hoping, but not expecting this add on to be much better. The time between DOA and Awakening is just too short of a time for there to be minimul bugs and glitches. I am expecting there to be more options for character selection and i am very looking foreward to that. For tomorow I will probably be the first at gamestop getting my copy of this game. Bioware has made very good games the last few years. Must give them credit for that. Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 were very fun and personal games. DaO was just something to hold me off.
Dragon Age the best action RPG out to date
Well I am a big gamer and have played alot of RPGs and action RPGs. I have to say Dragon Age Orgins is the best out to date. Game play is awsome great story line and lengthy game play. All which makes a great RPG Bioware you out did yourself's keep up the good work.
