F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
First in FPS Horror
I was a fan of FEAR from the PC and although I had this one sitting down for a few years after only playing it a few mins, I am glad I finally came around to it. FEAR and Monolith I still think are the kings of FPS horror, knowing how to strike a great balance oh audio/visual queues, gruesome displays and horrifying surprises with usable gameplay and environmental interactions. Sure the graphic style is not "beautiful", but when combining it with the dark nature and veiled shockers..its does its job perfectly I think. If you want to cut out the mystery and heart stoppers (why?) you can always adjust your brightness. Storyline is good picking up hot on the ALMA trail, although for some reason I get the feel of Resident Evil here and there. As the plotline thickens, the end is somewhat abrupt...but rather "freaky". Interesting and was unpredictable. The combat mechanics aren't too great, but the environmental interactions and effects are very good. Obviously with the age of the game, I found the multiplayer to be nonexistant, which is too bad. I guess is time to move on the FEAR 3!
FEAR is within and around you
i just bought this game and i am scared already but i love it and so will you. FEAR 2 is more in depth with FEAR project and this horror shooter might frighten the bravest shooter. if you play this game you will buy the next one i bet you.
Well this was my first game otside sports, racing, and military shooters like CoD, Battlefield, etc. It was pretty good and a little creepy at some parts of the campaign, bt once I beat it I had no idea what to do next.
An amazing experience
Out of all the games i picked up this summer this was the most memorable. I beat this game in two days due to the amazing storyline, and gameplay. There was never a poor moment in the game. If you enjoy FPS horror games this is a definite game to pick up, especially at its low price. The only flaw is its lasting appeal. Sadly this game is not a keeper. I would definitely rent, or pick up this game pre-owned then return it within 7 days.
Didn't meet expectations, no replay Value
Since the first F.E.A.R. game came out i had always wondered if there would ever be a sequel, sure we had F.E.A.R. Files but i wanted an actual sequel, something to push the story to a whole new stage, something to scare my pants off again as the first did, and something memorable. i bought F.E.A.R. 2 on its release date and was extremely excited, "WOW, look at these graphics! this is gonna be awesome! Alma is gonna look so much scarier!" however though the game looked very nice and sounded great, the game itself didn't do it for me. i distinctly remember in the first game how Alma would appear several times to attack or shock you each level, however in this game, Alma, a major part of the story, is either barely noticeable or not even there for many of its levels, along with this, the story was much more bizarre and difficult to follow. plus its fairly forgettable i recently picked up F.E.A.R. 3 and thought to myself, "Wait, what happened in F.E.A.R 2?" i seriously only remember maybe three things from this game. seeing the officer I'm meant to kill behind a glass wall while he's attacked or something, Getting stuck in an area with a bunch of ceiling crawlers chasing me, and being... touched inappropriately... by Alma at the end... overall forgettable and not worth it's original price. i guess it's necessary for you to play F.E.A.R. 3 to play this game, but find a good deal on it.
Amazing, Frightening, and Deliciously Evil.
I've been a fan of FEAR since I first laid eyes on FEAR (original) for the PC. I was in luck, and it came with the expansions-all two of them. I quickly became immersed in the thrilling story line, I was ever seeking to find out the truth of who and what Alma Wade was...The games were a quick favorite, and I never really got bored of the immersing game-play. FEAR 1 was much more frightening than FEAR 2, but I have yet to actually start talking about this game in particular. FEAR 2 was an amazingly brilliant upgrade from FEAR 1, but the FEAR Factor (The PUNS, I cant get them out of my head!) rather diminished a bit-*(or it could just be me...I am sort of used to this thing you know.) FEAR 2 takes you to a different Point of View as Private Beckette- A member of the FEAR team sent to capture/rescue Genevieve Aristide-The manipulative woman who rather constructed all of this by accident...but I wont go into detail about that. As the game progresses, you start to hallucinate and see apparitions of Alma-but don't be fooled; these aren't harmless hallucinations...Alma wants you...she wants to absorb you. The game is very amazing, I recommend this to anyone who wants to have a fun time with an occasional fright, Get this game-You wont regret it...as long as you aren't easily frightened.
Had me on the edge of my seat!
FEAR 2 had a good balance between the action and scary appearances of Alma. Graphics weren't the best but not the worst either.
Oh my scary
You wanna be scared? Play F.E.A.R... you wanna be scared again? Play F.E.A.R.2! This game does not disappoint, especially if you play alone in the dark... you will scream like a little girl! I promise! Don't believe me? Go see for yourself!
Play in the dark with headphones...
Seriously...Play this game in a cold, dark room with headphones on. One specific part comes to mind....In the basement of that school. Trust me...some of you will wet yourselves...
Fear 2 is scary game,is a game that is always waiting for the moment to scare you when you least expects it leaves women and is sure to scare.
