A very well done Potter game
Really guys, and overall score of 2? You crazy? Obviously this game is not the next Left4Dead or Gears of War, and if you got this game thinking it would be then of course you would be disappointed. Having played each of the various video games based upon the first four Harry Potter films & books, it has been interesting to observe how each new game has evolved beyond the differences in each of the stories that each game is based. For example, the third game ("Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban") was the first to permit a player to play as a character other than Harry: in addition to Harry, the player could also play as Ron or Hermione and switch between any of these three characters at will at any point during the game. The third game was also the first game in which successfully finding collector cards had an overall impact upon game play. The fourth game ("Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire") again allowed the player to play as Harry, Ron or Hermione, but unlike the previous game, the player had to remain as the chosen character for the duration of a particular level. Also, collector cards had a much greater impact upon the game as they defined what abilities or stamina the particular player would have based upon which three cards the player chose to use at a particular time. While the first three games had players wandering about Hogwarts (and sometimes other locations), the fourth game was more restrictive in that a player could not just wander anywhere. What, then distinguishes the fifth game ("Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix") from its predecessors? First, it is the first Harry Potter game available for next-gen video consoles. Second, more than any previous game, the rendition of Hogwarts Castle is the most accurate to any of the films and permits a player to go anywhere within its walls. Third, no beans or collector cards: but not to worry: there are plenty of other types of achievements that impact game play. Fourth, programmers went out of there way to ensure that game achievements are very closely related to the film: so (for example) no battling of monsters that are unrelated to the film and/or book, and no unusual tasks for obtaining spells. In the fifth game, spells are learned as needed. Finally, the player cannot choose which character to play as. Though this sounds as though fifth game programmers went backwards, quite the contrary is true: for the first time, a player can play as characters that have never been permitted before: as Dumbledore, Sirius, or even as one of the Weasley twins; albeit, at precise moments during game play to match similar moments in the film and/or book. As a very task-oriented game, a player will find himself (among other things) seeking out the Room of Requirement, finding secret passages, putting together & training "Dumbledore's Army", coping with Delores Umbridge, carrying out "OWL" tests for specific professors, battling students, playing a myriad of games (chess, gobstones and card games) against other students and cleaning up Hogwarts. Yes, in the fifth Harry Potter video game, you will find yourself making beds, sweeping, mopping, repairing broken objects and turning on lamps & heaters. Why, you may ask? Simple: to earn points & achievements. As you complete various tasks, you not only earn points and achievements, you increase Harry's magical powers. You also get to unlock hidden rewards that include interviews with actors who participated in the film & game, as well as other information about the fifth film. The rewards are made available to you in the "Room of Rewards" and you will be visited by Moaning Myrtle each time you earn another reward. You'll learn something about occlumency from Professor Snape and you might get to help create a bit of havoc around the castle to upset a certain woman in pink. I was a little peeved that Quidditch wasnt in the game (if it was, i didn

First Bad Game in a While
Gamestop had accidentally sent me this game instead of the half blood prince about a week ago so i decided to give it a try before the rest of my games i ordered. I was immidiately turned off by the terrible graphics and speech that they have to match the characters. The gameplay with free roam and wand use was too complicating and it was just not a good match for a free roam game. Not to mention, about 5 minutes from beating the game, this terrible thing bugged out on me and everyone in hogworts dissapeared and there was nothing for me to do to proceed. Save your cashhhh!!!!

Great game
This game takes you through what harry did in the 5th book. they also add some things just to make the game more interesting. there are some parts that can get kida hard. in one part you have to find all of the members of Dumbledore's Army and tell them about the meeting. one thing that i would change is that i wish that you didnt have to play as Harry the whole time.

Not The Best
Sorry to let you down, but this is not the best Harry Potter game out to date! There is not much you can do except 3 additional task from teachers, find about 6 portraits and clean hogwarts with reparo, depulso, accio, and wingardrium leviosa. The real missions are to recruit about 30 people for the D.A. (about an hour) and help them. ( another 1hr). Seriously, not the best.

Very Nice
For a Harry Potter game I am very impressed. I used to dislike the games until I played this one. the graphics were good and the storyline is very good. The price is cheap and worth the little money you put into it. Overall this is a very good game. For all you people giving this a low score if you don't like this game then you must not like ANY of the cheaper games. this is the best of all of them. I mean seriously people. Graphics: Very good for a Potter game. I was very impressed. Storyline: Was suprised on how good the graphics were. I mean for a cheap game these are very impressive. Challenge: The wasn't much of a challenge. In some parts it will take you a few tries. Overall I like the game. You can interact with alot of things. This game is recommended to anybody that wants a good cheap game.

really that is the best you can do
If this isn't the quickest game ever made than I don't know which game was. The story line was follow very well by the makers but that is really the only thing they have going for them. The game doesn't have much variety to it and becomes very repetitive after about ten minutes of game play. You are asked to do things for various students to convince them to join your army and the tasks the students ask are barely challenging. Some ask you to simply run to another point in the castle grab something and bring it back (ZZZZZZZ). Others ask you to show them a spell and are convinced. The game attempted to bring in dueling but missed the mark by a mile there is no challenge to the duels simply cast you spell until the other one falls down. I would not recommend this game to anyone if you really want to play it go out and rent it for an hour and you've should bat it in said time.

Dont buy this game
Even if you're a hardcore Harry Potter fan yo will be disappointed at the horridness of the game for one the graphics are horrible. Also the game sends you on these boring and repetitive missions. In the game Ron and Hermoine follow you all around and if you stop and try to backtrack they stay there which in my opinion is an unnecessary challenge. Also the dueling system or fighting system is poor. Locking on to a target in the game is a challenge in itself and also there is no life bar you just fight until the player gets on his knee and if you get hit you die and when he's on the floor you sit there helpless. Also its almost utterly impossible to remember the movements made necessary to do spells and on top of that its separated into two classes of spell attack and everyday spells in which both classes have the same motions. So I say that you shouldn't buy this it's a waste of your money.
