Not as bad as mlb 2k10
mlb 2k10 is a better game but 2k9 is not a bad game either it gets a little repetitive at some point but it doesnt take away from the overall experience.

one of the worst game i've ever played
I went to gamestop hoping to get MLB 2k10. They did not have the game so i got 2k9 instead. The hitstick is extremely hard to learn. Ok graphics at best. No lasting impression what so ever. Boaring. Definitley not worth ten bucks. I recommend MLB 09, 10, 11 The SHOW! 2K Baseball has always been a disapointment. DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME!!!

Are you serious?
Yes, this game is realistic and can be very fun at times. I have had fun playing the game for a while as the controls were easier to use and the gameplay was more engaging. What was the big problem? Glitches everywhere you turn. The glitches are damning for the experience and can ruin it for good. Some examples include, your outfielder unable to catch a ball when standing directly under it, stalling and freezing, and terrible baserunning controls. My personal favorite is when the ball goes through you! Like your a ghost. Play it for a while if you like baseball, but give it up later for a real game.

Pretty Cool Game
This game was pretty awesome graphics are good only a the look a little fake but thats what a video game is right. This game is so much batter than 2k7. The picthing is way more realistic because you are useing the right anolog stick other than using x,y,rb,a,and b. the only thing i dont really like about it was that the game controls were changed. I got mad a 1st but once i figured out the controls the game got so much better. then theres the main menu that is pretty complex . it is hard to figure out at 1st but it gets easier over time. the batting is the same but the baserunning has changed and the fielding did 2. you press y instead of x to call off the ball. the only thing about the create a player thing is its hard to get the face just right there are almost to many ways to customize you mlb player. the eyes are the hardist part about it.because you can open them to much and they look funny or you dont open them enough and they look funny. but other than that this game is awesome.thats play ball "sandlot"

You cant fire you coach!?!
I was playing this on my 360, and my team was terrible (on franchise mode) so like real baseball I wanted to fire my manager. So what I did was I went to look for the staff section and I couldn't find it, so i'm like "thats stupid, you can't fire your manager?" That is the only baseball game Ive played from 2k that you cant fire your manager which I hope they fixed in 2K10. Other than that, the game is awesome, the graphics are superp, grade A stuff. What I love the most are the graphics on it, Derek Jeter looks just like Derek Jeter (ect). I'd recommed this to anyone who has a 360 and is a baseball fan. Also, I like that you can create yourself and put him in the minors, the only problem i have with playing Minor-Leauge games is that theres no commentary I personally would like to hear what the commentar people would say about how good they are doing. Oh and I would like they announcers to talk about how well the batter thats up to the plate, did the previous game as well as during the season like talk about how many home-runs or RBIs he has, that would be awsome.

Good one.
While I havnt played any of the other MLB 2K games, I do like this one. Not sure what all the fuss is about. The batting and pitching control reminds me alot of MLB '98 from the Playstation. When batting you push the left stick in the direction you want the ball to go and swing with the right. While pitching, you place the ball where you want it in the strike zone with the left stick and do a certian 1/4 to 3/4 circle in a direction to throw a certian pitch. I'm at a loss on how people could have problems with this. Learn the pitch, it shows you what it's going to do if thrown correct. If the arrows point down and to the left, it's going down and to the left. I find the pitching easy and very enjoyable in this game. I like to see how many K's I can get with my pitchers, because you can get the batter guessing and the commentators will give you little hints and clues if you pay attention. As far as the batting goes, well if the team your playing has good pitching its not as easy to get base hits. If the pitching is lacking, you can run the score up. You also have to be patient. Dont swing at everything they throw. Make them give you a good pitch. Hell, I've been walked a couple times just because I was patient and the pitcher couldnt get it over the plate. So lets move onto the fielding. At times it can be frustrating. Sometimes it seems as thou the CPU can get to any ball unless you jack it out of the park, but at the same time your guy cant get to a ground ball that is hit 2' to his left. Now this dosnt always happen but when it does it's a pain. I'd say out of every 2 games it may happen for 2 - 4 inngs of play. Also there are times when your player will look like Flash Gordan while chasing after a fly ball. Other times he looks like shriek trying to run and you think he wont make it so at the last minute you hit the dive button and they dont catch it. But I've come to find out, 90% of the time if you dont hit the dive button they will do this amazing stretch thing and some how catch it on thier own. Throwing to bas' is pretty good. All players have a meter that starts when you hit the throw button, keep it in the green and easy out. If it goes into the red they usually still get them out but the person cathing may have to move a little. Overall its a very enjoyable game, with great replay value. You can also make your own player and place him on a tream. No carrer mode option.

WORST SO FAR!!!!
I'm a HUGE fan of baseball games but I have to say this is the WORST one ever!!! Pitching control is AWEFUL, fielding is AWEFUL and base running leaves a LOT to be desired. Both sets of pitching controls on the All-Star lever leave you guessing where the ball will end up in the strike zone, (If it makes it there at all). It looks as though the graphics have taken a step back to early days of XBOX graphics. I surely hope taht 2K Sports makes MANY changes to the MANY problems with the release of 2K10 or I willl never buy another one of their sports games again. On the plus side, stealing is not all that hard to do against the system or other players if you know what to look for. Also, the soundtrack isn't too bad for those who like the Rock Band games.

disapointing
This is easily the most frustrating video game I have ever played. waayyy to many glitches, and glitches that severely effect the game, for example fly balls to the outfield are almost 50/50 whether your going to catch it or it goes right through your outfielder, secondly and even more frustrating, is on groundballs mainly to the left side, when u throw to first the first basemen isn’t standing on the base. And it marks it down for an error. In one 162 game season with the yanks my SS made 214 errors all throwing. It can happen maybe once a game or 4 to 5 times an inning. Outside the actual game play this game is nothing to get too excited about. The dynasty mode is really only one exhibition game after another, nothing else really happens which really is disappointing. The upside to this game is the graphics. They really are something else and can’t knock that. they did get rid of the windy pants from 2k8 but added the dust bowl effect (every time you move around or dive, huge dust piles come up and blow away.) being a huge baseball fan playing this game is very disappointing and would not recommend it to anyone, A MUST PASS
