This is a Greaaaat Game
Whoever said that they don't say the names of the players, your wrong. During Campus league mode they will attempt to pronounce your last name if you tackle or run the ball. Its not very loud but you can hear it if you listen.

Worst NCAA Game of EA Sports.
Bad Graphics. Freezes every once in a while. Dosn't pick your plays. EA You could have done better.Worst game in my life.

Best of all the series.
This game was my first NCAA football. I loved the RTG in it. The teams are balanced too. The graphics were ahead of its time. All you HATERS compare it to '12, but this one is 4 years old, give it a break.

Not good at all
The gameplay is choppy, the graphics are so bad, barely better than ps2 graphics, and the game isn't addicting. The announcers have been using the same lines since probably 2004 and it's really annoying. BAD GAME.

worst of the series
This has got to be the biggest scam EA has ever come up with. The game is a joke. You have to be a really, really big EA fan boy to ignore the nonexistent passing game, constant clipping (not the penalty), choppy animations, freezing, excessive turnovers (with meter all the way down), useless defense, ridiculous campus legend, cheerleader less and coach less sidelines, meaningless player ratings, and it just keeps rolling downhill. Wow, I still can't get over the passing game, awful, awful, awful. Your receivers will never, I repeat, never beat the defender off the line. Throwing down the middle or screens are you only option (you'll still get swatted most of the time, lob passes, bullet passes, doesn't matter) and that is boring! I could go on, but I will spare the reader. The running game is good though. I set the game in the trash outside my house if anyone is interested.

Great College Football
NCAA Football 08 is a great game for every level of fan. I am a pretty hard-core fan myself, and I am very pleased with this game. The controls are very easy to learn. Almost anyone could pick up the game and start playing within minutes. The detail and sharpness of the game is very pleasing. It looks about as real as a video game can. The variety and inclusion of EVERY team is very important to me, and I was satisfied with the many schools available to play as. The dynasty mode is fun. You pick whatever school you want, and play through the season. My favorite mode is Campus Legend. You make a player, whatever position you want, and play in his state's high school playoffs, trying to impress the scouts that are attending. You then get offered a scholarship to a few different schools. (The farther you go in the high school playoffs, the better.) Then you get to play through the entire season, while working up the depth chart and keeping up the old GPA. So, whether you're a casual collegiate fan, or a die-hard, true to your team kind of fan, you will love NCAA Football 08.

Fun College Football
By no means is this game perfect. It won't ever come close to perfect - no sports sim ever will - but what NCAA Football 08 does right is alot of things that make it fun. The legendary mode is extremely deep and it was frightening to know that they had the names of all the high schools in my state for the State Playoffs in there. But it was also exciting to see it instead of some made up name, made it more authentic for me. Of course, they never say players name (college or high school) so it loses some luster, but everyone knew that going in. Dynasty mode (or whatever it's called here) is also great. Recruiting takes time to get used to, but is amazingly complex and deep in it's delivery. It seems this is where they focused their time (phone calls/stats/visits) instead of just on the field issues. Which is where people will complain most. 1) the crowd still sucks and has no passion. I know it's hard to replicate real life college football atmospheres, but at leats put a little effort into it. crowds at college games never settle down unless being beaten to death - here they get quiet after every play. no matter how you're doing. 2) sideline antics. nothing happens and players are dull as rocks. i rarely see anything fun and havent seen any cheerleaders or mascots with passing glances. however. the gameplay is still solid. It is FUN to play and that's really all that matters here. It is silky smooth at 60 frames per second and looks pretty good. It may not be the best, but it gets the job done. Sure, the sound could be better and louder but hey, it does what it does. And once you know how EA acts with their games, it's not surprising. I didn't even expect this good of a game to come out of 08, but i was happy with the outcome. All in all, it won't wow your socks off, but it's fun and it is the only college football experience out there. So wait till it's cheap (like now at ** bucks) and pick it up.

exactly what a football game should be
i played the demo and i loved it. i was happy that i could play as michigan because i am a wolverines fan. to other people wondering why there isnt any commentary it was because if there was commentary it would have taken alot longer to download, but the full version will have commentary. all the modes are going to be awesome and i am so happy they are bringing back campus legend mode. i will be playing this all the way up to and beyond when madden comes out
