Reality Check
100% of the negative previews are coming from children who are still learning how to read and write. NHL 08 looks great this year, I'll have no problem buying that game. But 2K has been the better game the last couple years. They don't score very high in the graphic area, which the children seem to be fond of. But 2k does good where it counts. Fun and Realistic gameplay. And for those of you who'd like to enjoy a high scoring arcade game, 2k also gives you the ability to change the sliders and difficulty. 2k has now made some huge improvements, don't be fooled by all the kids yelling about all the new features in NHL 08. NHL 2K8 has made just as many big improvements, if not, more. Its going to be a great year for videogame hockey. (Hopefully the NHL does better too, best sport on the planet)

2K8 is lookin good
2K hockey has had a solid foundation, and they are finally building on it. It could only get better. The area's where this game has been superior is where it counts, such as the defensive options, smooth skating engine, intelligent AI, and the ability to cycle the puck around the zone. 2K's gameplay has been superior to EA's the past 5 or more years, and finally NHL 08 has done more than delivering a pretty looking game. But I doubt we'll be disappointed with NHL 2K8. They've really stepped it up, and added a ton of new features which should really give the user so much more control than before. Can't wait

NHL 2k8 best hockey game ever...again
NHL 2K7 destroyed EA NHL 07. When i played EA hockey the scores were 14-16 and the computer always lost. Most of the scores in 2K8 games were 2-1 or 3-2. The AI in 2K7 was so much better than EA. After playing demos of both 2K8 and Ea NHL 08, I can honestly say it looks like another year that the NHL 2k franchise will again beat EAs offering. NHL 08 has no new features this year, just roster updates...pretty lame. Stick with NHL 2K if you want the most realistic and best playing hockey around

Pffft Never will i get this
Well well, guess its that time of year again. Well i have to say 2k hockey isnt even CLOSE to ea. EA is far better (btw i am comparing both 07 ones) If you want games to be 19-15 and you winning choose 2k. If you want a realistic game, 3-2 and such choose EA...

ea a little bit better than 2k
i played the nhl 08 demo, and it definately rocks, never been a fan of 2k sports games, so unrealistic and not that fun to play, nhl 08 is realistic and fun at the same time, they do need to improve few minor things to their games but still it's worth buying it, 2k needs to improve their graphics before they wanna become as good as ea

Don't Listen to the EA Fanboys
With all the EA fanboys' collective broken English and poor grammar, why should anyone take their opinion seriously? All they do is harp about graphics when anyone with half a brain knows that gameplay matters much more. And to all the people complaining about 2K not being realistic enough should try playing real hockey instead. If I wanted realism, I wouldn't be playing video games.

Stick to Basketball
For those of you in need of a true and realistic puck game, stick with EA. 2K fails on many fronts, and those of us who actually live and breath hockey choose EA all day. There are many intricacies that EA touches on that true hockey players and fans notice, all of the others can have this pile of arcade crap.

Overhaul
This game is in need of a complete overhaul. EA is making huge strides every year. It looks liek this year all 2K diud was copy EA's skill stick. If you havent tried the NHL08 demo, you should know that EA is the only REAL hockey game this year, and yes, online leagues included.

nhl 2K8 VS nhl 08
NHL 2k8 will never be great till they make the goalie Ai better and stop you from shooting upper right and left so easy and the goalie never stops it ever. At least in NHL 08 the goalies and the players on the ice now read your playing style and adjust to you so it gets harder. The only thing I hope is that online play won't be over run with upper corner goals that can't be stopped ever. and thus making the leagues and play suck.

2k hammered to the ice!
2k was the better game in 06 but in 07 was beat by none other than the skill stick, the butterfly styles of the goalies and of coarse the graphics. This year 2k has added some cute moves to their players but still fall off in the graphic section and depth. This is where EA takes over and crushes 2k this year. The depth in 08 is scary and insane. 2k won't be the top selling hockey game franchise for the next decade!
