Hack and smash Game.
It started good, but the voices and acting was poorly done. The game became very repetitive and my hand started to hurt after hitting the same button over and over. The story was interesting and the idea of playing multiple characters was fun. I felt like the levels needed to be designed better, it kinds looked like they just slapped it on without thinking. I would recommend this game if you have nothing better to do.

1 warrior 1000 times the fun
i really enjoyed the game, if the reviews arent good at all who cares the game is beautiffly designed. the execution of the characters movements is strikingly impressive. this game might be annoyingly difficult but i love this game and i bought the second one and it was just as good and the story and graphics just as better. im sticking with this game and not Black Ops or Modern Warefare too violent.

Now this game may have not so great graphics and the sound is a little bad, but the the over all game play and story is just awesome. If I was you, I would give it a try.

The Game Killed Itself
If the creators of Ninety-Nine Nights spent half as much energy on creating a full game with a decent story, as they did on making sure they could stuff hundreds of people on a field, then this game might have been great. As it stands, this game is just OVERFLOWING with mistakes, problems and horrible decisions.
Don't get me wrong, there IS fun to be had here, if you're a fan of mindless hack-n-slash. Some characters are extremely fun to play and some cool moments can happen on the field, but overall, the game is simply ruined by its creators.
The list runs long, from having NO checkpoints or save points on the field, where you might end up having to face several bosses, with about 4-5 healing potions throughout the ENTIRE level. You die? You start over from the very beginning.
You kill a boss? You might have about 3 seconds TOPS, to get the goodies they drop before the cutscene carries you away from them. Oh, and after some cutscenes? You might be dropped back into the gameplay with a group of guys right in front of your face attacking you.
You may try and block, but your guy will just stand there. There were times, especially after using a special attack, where I would throw up the block and the guy would just stand there. I would have to hit it three times for him to finally guard himself.
The gameplay isn't broken, but there are just some really amateurish mistakes in there.
But, far worse than the gameplay, is the story. Who even knows where to begin with this? The characters have HORRIBLE voice actors. And every single one of them is a cliche. The care-free mercenary, the bleeding heart prince, the dutiful priest, the bubbly witch-girl, the gentle-giant. There is no meat behind them. You are hardly told why they are even involved in all of this, and you are not told at all how some of them know each other. To top it off, some characters, who seem important and seem to have their own stories, just appear out of nowhere in the game. But you're told very little about them. A slave turned mercenary, an archer elf, a dark-elf general. You think they're playable characters, but they're not.
To make it all worse, the creators didn't seem to know whether they wanted to tie the playable characters stories into the same story, or whether they were alternate realities and outcomes. There's zero continuity. Just when you think they are telling the same story from different perspectives, they do something completely different from the first character's story you played.
In one story, a character is overcome by darkness. You'd think they're would be follow up. But, under another character's story, instead of being overcome by darkness, you kill them. Oh, and good luck finding out why they were overcome by darkness. Or why darkness appears in the sky. Or what happens after the orbs are united. Or knowing anything more about the King of Night.
Why?
Because in a game where seven different characters have seven different stories, there is not ONE SINGLE ENDING. Maybe just one. But, I honestly couldn't tell if the character was just sitting down or had died.
This game could've been something special. Really special. Beautiful graphics, a unique attempt at telling a story from seven sides of the same war, fun attacks and mechanics on the battlefield. If they had've actually tried in the areas that counted instead of "Hey, how many guys can we fit on screen without major lag?" being their main focus, then game would've gotten a 10 instead of a 4.

Can be fun, but ONLY for DW fans.
Ninety-Nine Nights (or N3) is a hack and slash game that bears a lot of resemblence to games like Dynasty Warriors, (and all of those other DW-style games Koei put out). You slice your way through hordes of goblins in several missions, often killing over 1K goblins per level. What sets this game apart from the rest of the sub-genre is how many AI-controlled people can be onscreen at once. You often can have over 250 AI-controlled characters and have no framerate issues at all. I found this game to be fun for quite a while, but I do have some things I found to be issues. My biggest gripe with N3 is that I didn't find that your team's drones seem to do much attacking. Sure they help, but I found it to be minimalist. Another concern is the annoying voice acting. I understand some of the high-pitch voices because one character claims to be 12, but Inphyy's voice is grating-and not normal for her age. Plus, I am pretty sure that characters max out at LV. 10. Plus, it will take a LONG time just to obtain your first achievement. Regardless of the game's flaws, I really enjoyed this game for what it was. They did make a sequel, however I am avoiding it because I heard it's one of the worst games of 2010. If you like Dynasty Warriors, I strongly suggest buying this game.

This game lacks appeal.
i feel like this game lacked a lasting appeal for me to reccomend it. I usualy love hack and slash games but this one wasn't one of them. In this game you'll find that as you level up you get more combo moves.I did not like that,i feel like it is a pain going through the same levels as different charaters using rusty and old moves. i would however reccomend this game to someone who likes to take there time with a game but i feel dissapionted.

Horrid
The overall game is alright, if you put the game on mute. The voice acting sounds like the designers hired a cast of pre-teens to voice the characters. Game play is a typical hack and slash, run around and attack hords of enemies. Do not buy this game unless the one you buy can be dubbed in Japanese.

With the amazing gameplay it is simply amazing.
This a amazing work of art still stands as my favorite game of all time for amazing gameplay and storyline. As you progess through the game you unlock the ability to control the basic elements(fire, earth, air, and my favorite water) as different characters. I love it.
