Samurai Shodown Sen
a great shame to the Samurai Spirits series of gam
First of all they completely ruined the special moves of the classic characters by trying to make them a soulcaliber character. the graphics are fine, it being an arcade port, arcade having lesser graphics than current systems. the lighting system is nice. its like they tried to make Soul Caliber and got tekken. The one thing they got right is the music which has always been great in Samurai Spirits. This game is for people who never played the old classic Samurai Spirits games or dont care about the series. This game is perfect for? This game is perfect for people who dont care about what fighting game or quality of game they are playing.
Good job SNK
I didn't expect them to make another one after samurai showdown 5 until they made this one. The gameplay I'll to get used to this way. The graphics aren't to bad for the first time in 3d. This game is fun. Even though it's not popular. Buy it.
Diamond in the rough
This game is so much better than all the negative reviews it recieved. Im glad i ignored them and gave it a try it was worth it.
its a good game for hardcore gamers and casual gamers for people that are not just after playing online it gets boring anyways....it has a good character roster and the characters look like watching cartoon is my favorite types of graphics games are based on your own opinion soo try this game has good gameplay dont listen to critics and try it if you want 2 play, my gamertag is ROGUE SNIPER777 its one of my favorite ohhh and it also has a survival mode
No Story line, no plot. It's a bona fide button punching game. What a waste of time that was.
Not the best fighting game but its a good one..
when ive try it out i can say that i really like the game and the joypad movements for the game.sure its not as strong as super streetfigher 4 and others in its leage but its better than kof12.ill say give it a try if u wanna.its pretty good.it feels different from the past games but its alright.that graphics aint that bad but its a classic casuse the arcade version was release in 2008 or 09 but i think 2008 for sure.I mostly paly haohmaru casuse hes my favorite character.i must admit.i do hate the online thing.its works well but its tough to find some to fight online but its always good to fight someone offline. Online isnt everything.ill say try it if u like samurai shodown or wanna try it to say hows its like first.snk games are a long wait at times too.LOL
Small budget, but big on gameplay traditions
I had high hopes for Samurai Shodown Sen when I picked it up, took it home, and started running it on my XBox360. The presentation overall is smooth, if not a bit simplified in most aspects. And surprisingly, the music adds the right tension and atmosphere for the stages, while the graphics are somewhat last-gen looking; and yet, the character models and backgrounds...still look respectably sharp from those attempts. The character selection is nice and large, with diverse fighting styles and personalities. A good handful of retro choices and a generous helping of newcomers makes this a more notable Samurai Shodown in the interesting character lineup. The online functions great, but lacks a community, which is sad considering how well the game's mechanics and online functionality are balanced and consistent. Looking beneath the presentation, the gameplay is a more move/combo-oriented style, much like hardcore fighting games of the past. The combat is a lot of fun: with diverse combo and counter lists, decapitations and desperation strikes; some of them even act as a few little tricks for dramatic effect (so it definitely has enough flexibility, and requires practice to master the combat system). The story mode doesn't offer much excitement unfortunately, but makes for a good way to pass the time while waiting for matches online. A few of the plotlines are interesting, but the narration is a real rough translation sometimes. This game includes survival mode, and pretty difficult achievements, but plenty of gameplay hours if you enjoy the fighting system and character selection. With an online community, this would be a great pickup. Although, it did just come out a short time before this review, so maybe that will take time to change. Otherwise, have some friends to play with in versus mode, and you have a recommended title for old-school Samurai Shodown fans.
love this game!!!
i strongly recommend this game i love this game , and one thing im a lil concerned about is the graphics its ok but the gameplay is great and the story mode is great so if u a big fan of samurai shodown this is the game for you and i like the online gameplay it is great , its a great game , but itll be great if they had colors for the fighters and and time attack mode and tutorials for the practice mode to practice the moves and everything , all and all its an awesome game my favorite character is angelica shes a great character and i just got this game today and i tried her out online and shes great and her weapon is great , another character i like is jubei hes a great character and had a two good swords , and his special move his off the chain if u like fighting games i would strongly recommend this game for you
Hope this all works out been a fan sense way back se wats up
Can't wait to check this out.....
Long time fan of Samurai Shodown. These games are known for their merciless difficulty. 3D transitions don't always work out well for 2D fighters but gotta keep up hope that this game will impress. Otherwise I look for this game to either get underrated or passed by due to ignorance. SNK is not a big player in videogames anymore but they still have a very loyal fan base. If you're reading this give a try atleast till the SSF IV comes out!
