Boring, unfinished, and overall a bad game
Sonic the Hedgehog is without a doubt the worst Sonic game to date and probably even the worst game ever put on the shelves by Sega. The gameplay is generic, has little to offer, and you will quickly realize that the game basically repeats basic concepts the entire. No, thirty hours of gameplay that is purely smashing enemies is not fun. The game is divided into three campaigns, all with their stories that connect in the end, but don't excited because Sonic the Hedgehog has a terrible story. It's confusing, corny, failing in every way, and could have been written by a seven year old. Anyway, the campaigns are divided by Sonic, Shadow, and Silver (A new character introduced to the series. Again, don't get excited, he's annoying and has the IQ of a ham sandwich). Sonic controls fine, Shadow is OK, but Silver is so extremely slow that it makes some of the most boring moments ever. Ugh, just bad. The only thing that is alright about this game is the music. Although some tracks are played way too much, the music is pretty good. Also, one more thing I should mention: The loading screens. For whatever reason, accepting a challenge requires two loading screens after each other, therefore making you not want to play them and cutting away about five hours of gameplay, but that's OK because the challenges are pointless and just more of the same. They also have the only bad track in the game... sigh. The loading screens take ages and having two of them in a row ends up in having to wait a full minute just for a small bit to be loaded. The graphics are also bad. More bad things! Yes, the mountains just have one ugly pattern repeated. That was acceptable in 1995, not today. The overworld is simply another part of the game with some generic looking models places in it. The second overworld is just empty. Just grasslands... nothing to see... yeah. Oh, and if you hadn't hear yet, then I will tell you right now that you WILL run into at least five glitches within an hour. Boring, unfinished, and overall a bad game.

I like it but needs some changes
It wasn't THAT bad. The Game was mostly Decent. I really like the story, but it sucked that none of it really happened. Sonic's Controls were buggy, he tripped when he wasn't supposed to, and his Speed was slow but his turns were hectic, and his homing attack sucked somewhat. Shadow's controls were easy. They were well balanced, and the use of guns and melee, fit perfectly into his levels. Silver's levels were TOO slow. His pace left me in rage, but the telekinesis made up for it. I feel the game was rushed a bit. It has the BEST soundtracks I've heard so that also makes up for the losses. What I think would be awesome is if SEGA made an HD Mix of this game. If they just remodeled the Characters to make them look less... I wanna say choppy but that's not it. They look almost TOO sharp. If they take time to smooth out the textures, and blend some colors better it would have looked better. I have to admit that glitches are good when you can use them to your advantage, and have fun out of them, just not the unnecessary ones like Sonic's random tripping. It'd be cool if they redid the controls and mechanics. Fix Sonic's speed, so he goes as fast as He's supposed to, you know like when he keeps a constant speed when he goes over a dash panel. And also Silver's Speed so that he go a bit faster (I actually don't mind him going slow, but not that slow like he is). I believe they can re-use the voice recordings and edit them so that they can fit and sound better. This would actually be a re-make I'd like. It's a good game, just released too early to the public that wanted something at the moment. At the time a whole bunch of things were being released and everyone was jittery for something new, and that led to the dive-bomb of suckish games.

I'm serious.Nearly everything rocks about this. My only 2 cons are the missons & Mephilis. But other than that, everything rocks Intro of Silver,Big role of most characters,Best level designs,Best music. Graphics are fanominal,DANG.And that just names a few pros.Whoever hasn't played it,do me a favor,& go to your local gamestop and by it.

This isn't horrible but not okay either
This game sucks, it had so much potential and there were things I liked. The music is awesome, some of the sonic stages are okay at best, but that's it. The story is horrible, the towns are boring and bland, the boss battle are either really easy or annoying, most of the levels are pointless, and it's hard to enjoy the stages when your immersion is ruined because of a dumb glitch. So overall the game isn't the most horrible game, but that doesn't make it a good game.

Good but gamers are to blame
Ok I will start off by saying that I think this game is a bit too underrated. Yes, I admit the level design isn't the best and the gameplay glitches and bugs are bad but I believe they are ignorable. The story plot for all characters are okay. But for all the Sonic fans that say this game is horrid and mediocre, you have you, the Sonic fans, to blame for that. This game was set to be released on Sonic's 16th birthday but gamers were pushing Sonic Team and SEGA to release it, resulting in the game being released A WHOLE YEAR early, rushed and fairly bad. So next time you try to rag on the game for being too rushed and horrible, remember who you have to blame for that. I personally like this game quite a bit. But that's just me.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 Isn't All Bad
As Most Of You Already Know, This Game Was Planned To Be A Reboot For The Sonic Series, That's Why The Environment Is The Real World, In This Case Soleanna, The City Of Water. Because Of This Reboot A Lot Of People Said That The Story Doesn't Make Sense, Like With The Time Travel And Stuff Like That. For Example Blaze The Cat Is Supposed To Be From An Alternate Dimension, But In This Game She Is In The Future With Silver The Hedgehog. Shadow The Hedgehog In This Game Is A G.U.N. Agent, Same As Rouge The Bat. Every Character Has Unique Abilities That Helps You To Get To Different Sections In Each Stage. In Each Story, You Have Tails The Fox To Fly, Blaze The Cat, Amy Rose And Rouge The Bat To Get To Higher Places, Then With Knuckles The Echidna And E123 Omega You Can Smash Enemies Faster (At Times) And Finally We Have The 3 Hedgehogs. Silver Can Hover, Shadow Can Use G.U.N. Vehicles And Sonic Has Different Abilities With His Shoe Gems And The Mach Speed Sections Sometimes Can Be Streesfull, But Those Are Pretty Enjoyable At Times. Some Stages Are Good, And I'll Admit, Some Stages Are Really Bad. The Best Stages In My Opinion Are Kingdom Valley, Wave Ocean And Flame Core. The Only Bad Stage For Me Is Tropical Jungle. Sonic The Hedgehog Isn't A Bad Game, It Has Some Bugs. For Hardcore Gamers Can Be Stressfull, Boring And Bad, But For Casual Gamers Like Me, It Can Be Pretty Enjoyable At Times. I Recommend It For Casual And Kid Gamers.

Please Tell Me This Was Some Kind Of Prank
This game is a disgrace to the XBOX 360 and gaming in general! Well playing this game you'll feel like a beta tester trying to get through a CLEARLY unfinished game. Not only are the graphics terrible for what the XBOX is capable of but you can't walk three steps without some kind of glitch happening. This was SEGA's attempt to make the Sonic series more "realistic" if they wanna do that take out the yellow fox with two tails and get rid of the red echidina with giant hands. Sometimes I feel like everyone at Sega was trying to get back at us for the Dreamcast failing by making this game. Never buy this game. The only thing it has going for it is the beginning cutscene which is very Final Fantasy like. I'm not even going to mention Dr. Eggman's new look.

Absolutely atrocious
I cannot believe how badly this has been rushed. It is widely known that this game is terrible and for very good reason. The graphics were good, the sound/music was awesome as always, all else in this game was just SO BAD. All the people that say this game is good probably didn't even play it and if they did... Well I guess they don't understand what 'fun' is. Or what game breaking glitches are. I'm sorry, flying past the skybox on a floating box isn't a glitch and nor is an enemy that turns INTO A BOX. Dying during scripted segments, absolute horrid level design, terrible story, etc. People defend this game, and I can't even believe these people. I assume they're either trolling or brain-dead. I recommend to all people that are not feeling suicidal to keep miles... no, light-years away from any copy of this game. This is NOT a fun game, it is a grueling nightmare. If you're going to buy anything related to this game, buy the soundtrack. You can, and that's great.
