single player bliss
A great addition to the tomb raider series. If you liked long expansive tombs like prior entries you will be disappointed. But the wide open aspects of each area more than make up for this. by time you hunt for salvage and chase all items it all feels like tomb raider. Like prior reviews state there is no exploration after beating the game but this is a mood point. The story is amazing and action packed. An add on or two would push this game from good to great. Multiplayer is something that should have been omitted but in todays world is a must have for some gamers. If you want a solid single player game this is for you. If multiplayer is your taste be prepared to be aggravated with lag and clunky controls.

Amazing Gameplay!
Probably the best game the has come out in a while. The story is amazing just like the older tomb raiders. I grew up playing tomb raider and I really hope the make a sequel to this. Definitely has a high replay value. I am also in school for game development and I can really see the complexity of this game.

Good game for anyone, hardcore or casual
This game is jammed pack of action and thrills. It is good for a "hardcore gamer" do to the fact it offers so many side quest and knick nacks to pick up and for your "casual gamer" a great story mode just to play through.

Don't Hesitate
I don't want to write a biased review, but I own every Tomb Raider game from its humble beginnings on PlayStation one, to this series revamp on our current next gen consoles. We all know Tomb Raider based on its iconic hero, attractive well-endowed kick-butt female, Lara Croft. Though, this time around she’s more than just an attractive figure blowing away bad guys with dual pistols or a wicked shot gun (though the pistol and shotgun are totally still included). The linear gameplay that many of us are used to in this series is gone for the most part, instead of that one track you’re forced to follow in previous games, this remake allows those who hunger for adventure to travel off the beaten path and discover goodies throughout each zone (or sandbox if you will). Lara is also a different character in a sense, she is younger, less wise, and what blows me away the most is she lacks confidence; she’s scared for her life. Instead of climbing up a mountain side and reaching the top unscathed, Lara’s clothing and personal appearance becomes muddy, torn, and even bloody. Though, don’t allow this image to lead you to believe the character has weakened with this change because if anything she has become a real person, and increasingly impressive. The graphics are on point for the series giving it the right amount of realism and truly bringing Lara and the dangers around her to life. In terms of gameplay I was not let down. In total you are given 5 main weapons to destroy anything that stands in your way; a shotgun, pistol, machine gun, bow, and a pick axe. I find myself using all of these weapons in combat and what I adore the most is that they are very fluid when it comes to linking together moves and switching weapons; the button layout is well thought out. Combat can be incredibly fast paced, and appeals to everyone whether you love to whip out stealth shots or run into battle weapons blazing! Another point I find noteworthy is that there is no reliance on auto aim anymore like previous games in the series, and this brings even more realism and challenge to the game. Puzzles built into your surroundings are also present, giving you a chance to stand back and think, some have stumped me, but overall I do not find them as challenging as those in the rest of the series. Overall, the game is worth picking up, the main story line isn’t incredibly long, but the maps allow you to lengthen the game by finding items and earning achievements. I suggest this game for those new to the Tomb Raider series and those who are die hard veterans, I am very proud of Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix for being able to turn this game into something I never imagined, kudos!

Take a chance.
Now I'll be the first to tell you that I've never been a Tomb Raider fan. I've played the games and honestly just couldnt ever get into them all that much. I procrastinated buying this game as a result of that. When someone finally conviced me to buy it I said ok. This game has changed my view on Tomb Raider by so much its amazing. The graphics were beautiful, sound amazing and what really sets everything apart its the spot on voice acting! While the game can be a little intense at times I would recommend parents keep in mind that the M rating for this game is there for a good reason. The gameplay felt great and I loved the upgrading system and not to mention the little side Tombs. While the game can be a bit linear at times,it has a vast world to explore with hidden secrets! The story was great, but honestly Im sure alot of people were like me and called what was gonna happen a mile away. If you need more convicing like I did, it plays like Uncharted with the combat system and you do feel pretty epic by the end of the game. The only thing that might be a problem is that the replay value, while there, may not be as much as you had been hoping for, but there is a mulitplayer part which some might enjoy.

One of the games i didn't think i would like.
When I first saw this game having commercials everywhere, I thought that it would be just like the other tomb raiders and it wouldn't be that good. So I gave it a shot. And I gave those bandits a lot of shots with my trustee bow. This game has the good combination of action and stealth that made me wanting more. The only problem I had with the game's story, was the end. The game didn't seem to have a big, final boss that left me satisfied in the end. But overall I thought this was a near perfect game with excellent voice acting, action sequences, and keeping the game fresh and non-repetitive.

does not feel like TR at all
I've been a fan of tomb raider series for along time, played most of them. this one is pretty much at the bottom of my list. It looks good, and its nice that Lara is realistic...and some of the perks they put in like being able to go back and look for relics is a neat idea BUT after playing at least half of this game, it really doesnt feel like a tomb raider game, like the creators didn't know what TR is supposed to be about. If you preferred the first couple where it was more shooting than puzzle/adventure and you also like the modern shooter games like COD or Gears.. than go for it but if you preferred TR3 or Legend like I did, this is not the game for you. Way to many bad guys, 98% of which are human, often swarming all at once with almost no end in sight. --This basically feels like any other shooter with Lara as the main character -- cut scenes are a little too frequent and drawn out....The novelty or leveling up skills and weapons went away rather quick as well. ...its a tough game, even on easy mode so - SPEND $$ WITH CAUTION

My first Tomb Raider, success.
So this is the first time I've ever played Tomb Raider ("You noob, you suck!") I know guys, I know, I'm sorry. After buying it on release day I went home, started playing and fell in love. The graphics, amazing, sound, amazing, lasting appeal, I could play for hours, gameplay, AMAZING. This game had me rope darted from the beginning. After beating the game the story was kind of unoriginal, but had it's own taste. The ending was VERY easy to guess, but that's okay because I still loved the ending. At the end it made me take a deep breath and act like I was Lara Croft. This game is a 10/10 and Camilla will probably get best voice acting, because she made the character in this game. But this game is a low price of $40, so definitely pick it up at your local gamestop, definitely worth the money.

It was the best game I've played in a while.
I rented the game from RedBox and instantly was interested. The game is very fun and adventurous. It has a lot of blood and dead bodies, but beside that it isn't to messed up and inappropriate. Except the swearing. It gives you a ton of weapons to use like shotgun or a bow. The game is really fun and the controls are easy to remember. I beat the game in 3 days because I was so excited to play it. I honestly love it and would recommend it to anyone who like adventure, killing stuff, and can get past the gross stuff! :)

Over done
Really i got to say that this game. Is over done because their is to many stories that a ship or a plane had crash into a island and the main charecter suppose to survive. square Enix should have better ideas than that. Plus second of all. This game is to predictable. I enjoy the previous games. But not this one.
