Fun
Pretty fun game if you like tennis. Not many choices of players but there are lots of venues to choose from. Solid gameplay and solid game overall.

OK for the price.
I picked this one up because I was looking for a cheap tennis game on the xbox. While I would not say this game is bad, it is nothing spectacular. The graphics on it are pretty good, and you get a good amount of courts to play on, but some of them give you a real hard time seeing the ball when it is in play. The roster is pretty good, but for when it came out it is lacking a few big name players that would have added quite a bit to it. You do get a couple of legends in Borg and Becker, but it would have been nice to see a few more added. The game play is decent, but it does take some time to get used to the controls which is frustrating to say the least. As for the sound, here is where the game drops the ball. While the on-court sound is pretty good, and you do get some crowd noise, there is no commentary at all. I know as someone that has played and watched tennis my whole life you really have no commentary during play, but between points it would be nice to hear something. All in all, this game is decent, but nothing more than a once and a while play. For the price I would not be against telling someone to get it, but if it was more than it is, like when it first came out I would say to stay away from it.

Best tennis game ever
Top Spin 3 may not be the latest game in the series, but it is certainly the best in my opinion. You can play exhibition singles or doubles matches with any player you want, including some all-time greats. But what you really want to play is the Career mode. You make your own character and start in an amateur league. Then make your way up the chain to Professional and play against real life players. One thing that kind of confused me was no Rafa Nadal. I mean, he was a player at the time the game was made. So besides that flaw, this game is awesome. Get it and you won't be disappointed.

Great Game. but...
This game is awsome and very addicting. This is by far the best tennis game iv'e played. Everything is good career mode, online, singles, and doubles. The only dissapointing thing is Nadal is not in it??? But other than dat its good. If you like tennis buy it 4 sure! Its got everything you need to have fun and be challenged at the same time.

This game has no depth
I think visually, there's no question that the game looks great. But that's all to it. The Career mode is extremely repetitive. You're basically playing the same groups of people over and over again. I was hoping for the game to have some sort of unlockable items but it didn't. So you're pretty much playing to get points and hopefully to win the Pro championship. The Create your player feature is great, you can customize a lot of things such as hair cut, makeup, facial features and different types of clothing. It would be nice if there are more dresses to choose from instead of same types with different colors. The one thing that bugs me the most about this game is Servicing. I think there are some inconsistency to it. If you move the stick too fast or too slow or at a slightly different angle, the ball never makes over the net. I'm not sure why but sometimes when I move the stick downward, it will initial a serve but then it starts swinging too early on its own and misses the ball. It happens too many times. A bug maybe? In the training mode, it teaches you to use the RT or LT with your shots, but that's extremely difficult to pull off. You better off just move the left stick fast to get the similar results. I think overall this is a fun game if you're looking to play an exhibition game or two. It does lack replay value because there's nothing to unlock.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME
Topspin 3 has been the biggest waste of money i have ever spent. Not only is it impossible to use these controls, it compares nowhere to virtua tennis 3. DO NOT WASTE your money on THIS PRODUCT. Children know how to make better designed games. This PRODUCT- the menu is terrible, federer is terrible, and the layout of this game is terrible. the greatest tennis player in the history of tennis-- Roger Federer, has the highest ranking of 75. This game makes them play like old men or young kids who just lob the whole time. Topspin 3 has been a total waste of their time, however waste your own money as you wish. Just be warned that by purchasing this title, topspin 3 will become a more popular game= a waste of time. Begin with the easiest level, you must be an expert pretty much.

The game could have been better
First of all, I love tennis games. I have played both virtua tennis and top spin series. It is true that you must go through the training first to get used to the new controls for the Top Spin 3 (TS3). But once you get used to it, it is really fun. When you start your career, your guy is very slow and inaccurate. However, once you earn your attributes (your skills points), your player becomes much better. Like previous TS games, you can allocate your player's skill points so that your guy can have better forehand, backhand, power, stamina, serve, return (new for TS3), speed, etc. I liked pretty much everything about the game except for the following: risk shots. In order to use risk shots, you must hold R1 (for power), L1 (for precision), or both (for both power and precision), plus the shot button (i.e. slice, topspin, etc) and YOU MUST TIME IT JUST RIGHT!! or you will miss the shot. When you play online, you better have mastered the risk shots, or you have virtually no chance of winning. So, if you are very good with timed button pushing/releasing, you will be good at this game. Otherwise, you will be frustrated with this game. I have completed the most difficult career mode without using the risk shots. I allocated most of my player's skills points to power (100), forehand (95), backhand (95), and speed (95), and others (much lower numbers), and I was able to beat everyone in hardest mode. However, I got beat very frequently online, since I can't use the risk shots very well. I hope this review helps.

Top Spin 3 NEW GEN TENNIS GAME!
This game is very good specially if you like tennis. Its challenging and the controls are great, and very realistic. When you are playing in the videogame you can feel like if you were playing on a tennis court because of the great controls, all you need to do is do the Top Spin School and practice a while and you will have lots of fun. The graphics are fantastic, you can tell by just looking at the pictures. The sound its okay but you can always put your songs on, so it doesnt really matters. I like the variety of courts, they are a whole bunch and the real masters and grand slams. Career mode its also lots of fun because you create ur character and customize it however you want to. The only problem i found was the roster, this game doesnt have the best players like Djokovic, Nadal only appears on PS3, Davidenko, Ferre, Hewitt and many more, but its still a good game...im sure you will love it if u like tennis and even much better if u play it...so i truly recomend this to tennis fans.

Best Top Spin
I found this game to be very much like real tennis and not the arcade tennis as in the first two topspins. No more of the meter bar special shots but you can still hit those kind of shots without the meter bar. You even have the extra angle shots as an option too. This is not your regular 4 button controls as in top spin 1 and 2. There is a lot more to take into account and the game involves a lot more timing. You can actually even hit real approach shots which we were never able to do in the other top spins. I definitely do suggest doing the top spin school to get used to the new buttons and new gameplay. Trust me, if you don't, you will find the game to be frustrating. Overall, as a tennis fan, I love this game for it is more simulation based and not "arcady".

Forget What You Know About Top Spin!
This game has obviously gotten a little flack about changing the controls around but not to worry. If you are looking for the most realistic tennis game available, you've found it. Yes the controls are different but once you begin to master them it becomes a very rewarding system. It makes sense finally how timing comes into play in a real tennis game. After you play this you realize how mind numbing the old scheme was. The player creation tools are very extensive, much like tiger woods. The music could be better it definitely gets old fast, but it dosn't affect how good this game is. The visuals in this game are a huge leap above what top spin was before. The player models look pretty realistic and you actually see them sweating through thier shirts and see their faces getting red as you play. There is also now a heart monitor to show how your stamina is holding up. I would definately recommend this game to anyone looking for the real deal. If you are just looking for a casual tennis game to pop in with your friends from time to time I would say to go ahead and pass on this one. It takes some time to unlearn your old ways and enlighten yourself with the new style that tennis games will be copying for years to come. But if you're in for the long haul I definately recommend this game over any other tennis title out.
