This game needs to be remade for next-gen consoles
Its a shame that it was rushed. Really...Obsidian really know how to craft a complex storyline. Not knocking down KOTOR here. It needs to remade as well (imagine it with Mass Effect level of visual detail!), but the ending is not finished. Lucas forced them to release it rushed, and forced a cop-out ending instead of the complex muti-choice ending originally to be offered.
Either way, this game deserves real kudos for turning the moral choice system on its head by making the player feel guilty for either extreme choice. Kreia is easily the most interesting video game character ever created, and its a shame they were forced to cop-out with her the way they did.
Its similar to Obsidian's Fallout: New Vegas, but in reverse this time (rushed beginning vs. rushed ending...and yes its unfortunately buggy too).
And just like Fallout New Vegas, there's a lot of mixed reaction to KOTOR2. It SHOULD of been the better game (like New Vegas) but wasn't.
Still, if you played KOTOR but never played the sequel, please do it. Its definitely a memorable experience, and one of the only games that challenges the player to truly think about the universal consequences of the choices levied at them.

One of the BEST editons to the Star Wars Universe
Going to break it down into categories here: GAMEPLAY: Not endless, but I have played it a number of times, definitely over 20 playthroughs. Some of you will probably go more than I will. Even though the character is not fully customizable (you only get presets) the whole rest of the game surely makes up for it. This game goes as far as if you choose to be a male character, you get a different party member than if you were female, and other things like that. All of your actions affect the game, and it also affects your party member's affinity for you. For example, if you have one character that is initially light side, and another character that is initially dark side, lets say you decide to kill someone when they didn't deserve it. The person on the lights side would not like the decision, while the dark side person would applaud you for it. This also affects influences, which in turn provides bonuses to both stats and cut scenes that you wouldn't normally see. GRAPHICS: I gave it an 8/10 from the standpoint of it first coming out, and yes the graphics are okay, but they aren't killing edge. I am not entirely picky on graphics, but it does affect my opinion a little. Sound: Reason I put sound is it gets kind of repetitive, but unless you like it, then it is no big deal. Personally, I like it, but that's just a personal choice. There is some typical star wars music in it, which gets pretty intense. LASTING APPEAL: I'd say that I will always be playing this game, it holds a place in my heart because of how close you can get with the npc's. Sounds nerdy, but hey, its interactive, and it feels like your actually doing these things in real life. OVERALL: None of the 6/10 and 8/10 scores for sound and graphics affect the overall score in my opinion, I think that there are always going to be some quirks in all video games. I kept the score at a ten out of ten because like I said, this game holds a place in my heart. I highly reccomend this game, even though it is 2012, and SW:TOR is already out. If you don't want to pay 15$ a month yet, then I suggest getting KOTOR:I & II, you won't regret it.

Great game
Got the original Xbox for the Kotor series and Halo. It was the best rpg i have played for years. Story was amazing and replayed many, many times. There is a third installment called the OLD REPUBLIC. Hits shelves 12/20/11!! Plays and looks like a polished knights of the old republic game.

The Best of the Best
By far my favorite game of all time, this has got to be the most addictive game I have ever played. Once you beat it, a few days later you'll be ready for another play-through. DEAR LUCAS-ARTS, OBSIDIAN, AND BIOWARE: Grow a brain and release a third one for Xbox 360. It would make everyones world a better place. Love, Me. Seriously though, if you are looking for an incredible game with in-depth characters, a great story-line, and addictive gameplay, pick of both the 1st and 2nd Knights of the Old Republic games.

a great game that still leaves a great memory.
I have loved this game ever since I started playing it. it gives a great example of what lucas arts and bioware can do together. the storyline and gameplay changes every time you play so you never get the exact same game twice.

Just amazing.
The game was well made it has its problems but is well worth the buy. It also has great replay value because of all the choices you can make and all the differnet things you can do if you didn't do them the first time. The graphics are not the best but if don't play games because they have bad graphics then you are missing out on a great game. I made the bad choice of selling it once and i won't make that mistake again. so i would suggest buying this before its no longer availeble anywhere or you will be sorry.

Great Game!
This game is like the first except this time, it doesn't just change the choice, it changes everything about your character. From building lightsabers to choosing your side against or with the Republic. The Galaxy lays in your hands, may the force be with you.

Best Star Wars game around
I have to say after beating this and Kotor 1 numerous times that it is one of the best games I have ever played. I have played many rpgs on current tier consoles and this game is still better then those games overall.
It is the ultimate game for a die hard Star Wars fan, I truly cannot understand why anyone would think this game was anything less then amazing.
